At this point why not keep them both for a few more months, have hips/elbows prelimbed? They are close enough in type and structure that I would chose based on drives and temperment. In the first set I prefer the right puppy, in the later photos I prefer the other, but it isn't really an optimum age to evaluate structure. How old are they in each of the pics?

Puppy on the right, or first one posted in the second pictures. Better male head, better stop, better angulations, smoother topline if your friend is looking for show.

I would also say I would learn toward the puppy cleanest in movement. I'll hedge a bet these boys wll be very heavy in the front at maturity.

the puppy on the right is much larger and has sort of curly hair on his back, his hind quarters don't seem quit as strong.

the puppy or the left has great eye contact and seems to want to please more.

he wants to use one as his next show line stud dog, the pedigree is very nice.

first photos were at 8 weeks and the second set of photos are at 12 weeks.

gotta love those ears!

Going strictly on pictures, the puppy on the right.

Better black mask, broader head, the look in the eye is more inviting and his over all body shape is more pleasing, even if stacking a 'puppy' is a hit or miss situation.

"He wants to use one as his next show line stud dog" (Sitasmom)

I don't know anyone who looks at  puppies if they are seriously looking to purchase their next "show line stud dog".  They are looking at an older animal, probably at least 18 months.  This makes better sense because so much first has to be determined (health clearances (hip, elbows, back), working drive potential, conformation and movement) before a dog can be considered a stallion prospect  that you can't possibly know by looking at a puppy and it takes too long to wait for the dog to mature to the point where you see all this and costs a lot waiting to find out.   Too much of a crap shoot with a puppy.   While an older young dog will cost more in the initial  price, this person will spend at least that much in food and training, plus  waste a lot time waiting around for the pup to become old enough to determine if it's a decent prospect or not.

People who know what sueincc posts above are more likely to know what they are doing........

Are you sure you didn't mix up the order of the pictures?  I'm almost certain that the puppy on the left in the first picture is the puppy on the right in the next two sets.  Look at them closely.

left puppy's coat is slick, and is a smaller
left puppy has much better eye contact and will hang with humans more

right puppy is huge and has wider head.
right puppy is going off doing his own thing more

I guess I'll tell my friend that its a draw and he'll have to decide for himself.

I personally like left puppy, his is more interactive, and his hind legs more sturdy, even though in the photos it doesn't look that way.
