Red Sable

I bought a pup from the States, and Sam is exactly right. I sent away for the papers.  That is the first I'd seen of that.

Here in Canada, the breeder pays for the registration, and you get the papers in the mail at a later date.

Ibrahim, Sold as pet, not for breeding.

I have sold puppies as low as 600 dollars. Usually lacking drive in my opinion. But owners love them and Spay/ neuter them no earlier than One year old and  no later than 2 years.

Thanks again Sam,

The registration cost is too small hence it would not affect the pure bred puppy price, the reason I asked is because we do not have a club here where we register our dogs like AKC in the States, so future puppies have no way to be registered. When we buy a puppy or dog from abroad, the registration papers only prove to us it is pure bred, if one has trust in the breeder the papers can be discarded, but then the registration does not affect the price so better one gets the registration papers along with the puppy or dog he buys from abroad.

GSDPACK,

Yes I got it. I bought from Czech and from Germany, they do not have such system, one gets the FCI export pedigree papers or SV pink papers along with the puppy with no condition for spaying or neutering.

GSDPACK,

For a foreigner who has to pay for shipment of puppy to his country, a price ranging from USD 600 to 800 is good and fair and affordable provided the pup is top quality and can be breeded in future,  to pay USD 600 for a pet when U.S resident and no further shipment cost or some national shipment cost upto USD 100 is a very reasonable and affordable price in my opinion.

Red Sable,

the question has been answered. I just wanted to ad:

In the last litter I had, there were 4 females and one male: all healthy and good puppies. The pick os a litter was a female. The male placed 3rd. This litter was out of non-titled female. I did not want to sell the puppies as "TOP WORKING LITTER" type of a deal. Puppies were mostly placed localy and they were cheap.
2 puppies are OK but they are no world champs. The owners love them but will never breed them.
I don't have the heart to ask so much $ for pets. They are better than some BYB dogs but they don't have the potential like the pick of the litter.

That is why the prices. I believe that one can get a good pet quality dog from a working litter and not pay arm and leg for it.
I paid $600 dollars the most for any of my dogs. 3 of them were given to me as puppies by friends.

Ibrahim, I know how it work in Czech. I grew up there. Even there the prices are cut if litter can't be sold. They don't make you fix the dog, but very few people wnat to mess with puppies when the country itself has many good breeders. It is hard to sell the puppies (mostky they are given away for the cost of vacinations)

So overall NO there is not extra for a good dog, there is less for a pet quality dog.

Hey, you can always buy a dual priced pup from this breeder who advertises 10 litters this year alone....
