OK Pack -- since Wrestleman didn't answer my question, will you tell me how the GSD was developed into an established Breed. Did Max "discover" a dog one day and decide to call it a GSD? Of course not. Specifically, what types of dogs were mated to create the GSD? You know that Schutzhund was a TEST -- not a Sport. Humans made it into a Sport. I consider Working Dogs to be dogs that actually perform a necessary Service to mankind -- Therapy, Police, Military, Herding, Disability Assistants.
I also believe that Schutzhund is a "game" to the dog and is fun for them. The Sports dogs can probably do that "routine" in their sleep. Do you see a similarity to the "routine" to that of a trained Circus Animal doing a routine? Just curious.
I am not trying to "pick a fight" -- just trying to get some insight.

It's pointless and futile to engage her, she either does not have the mental capacity to understand or only wants to argue and talk out of her ass. She is not trying to learn a damn thing, she clings to her crazy ideas, regardless of what anyone says, and a few months from now, just like clock work, she will once again say the same thing. It's mind numbing!
This thread is about Shilohs, not about Maggs or about the edification of maggs.

Sue - what do you suggest should be done to/with the "shitters" (as you call them) that do not perform up the the expectations of the Owner/Handler?
You, my dear, do not know what I have/have not seen -- don't jump to conclusions. Why do you get so "bent out of shape" when questions are asked? Are you not confident about that which you speak?

Maggs are you getting forgetful in your old age? YOu have told us all more times than I can count how you have never been to a trial, know nothing about schutzhund, and have no interest in it, because as usual you make your mind up about things before you understand them. Sort of like how despite what you have been told by many, just the other day you said you still believe schutzhund dogs and police K9s are regularly helicoptered and strung up by their handlers.
A shitter is a term for a dog that isn't going to cut it on the schutzhund field, for whatever reason, nothing more or less. Oh by the way, dogs don't take it personally, so no need to worry about hurting their feelings, and the fact that you don't like the term is your problem not mine.

As Max's name is always being thrown out on the Board, I personally think he would vehemently disapprove of what is going on with his beloved GSD.

You forgot the cardinal rule: The appearance of the Magg is the certain sign that a thread is devolving and it is time to relegate it to the "ignored" column.
For those who contacted me regarding the shiloh needing a home: thank you. I will pass it on to the appropriate parties to contact you directly.
I am now going to follow my own advice and depart. I will no longer post to it and won't bother to read the insipient nonsense that is scheduled to follow.
Adios.

You can go and race your Honda in a honda competition or you can go and fing a nice race car, pamper it, make it the best it can be for the time and knowledge and race in nationals and worlds. Unless you learn how to recognize a good dog, learn how ro raise a good dog and learn how to train.. there is no way you will ever understand the real passion of the Sport of Schutzhund. or any other dog competition. You are looking for it all, the willingness to work, please yet enough independence so the dog can think without the handler being behing its ass all the time.
I don't do Schutz because I am LAZY yes I admit I rather go and focus on real scenarios because I get bored.. that is me. I don't talk down to people who have the guts to compete and they do all they can to succeed.. MAybe you should learn to respect people who at least TRY... untill then... well what else needs to be said, right? You can call it a game. I call it.... your lack of knowledge and exposure to working dogs!
pack
Maggie, I have ScH3, FH1 male, I trialed, titled and I worked as a security guard using dogs to search trains and some of them were cross trained to find Pervitin (solely) on those trains. I worked for a private Agency in Prague where we had dogs who searched the traines for smuggled people from Ukraine and Russia. I know what a real work is.. I still don;t shit on people who do Schutzhund..... I shit on people who shit on people who do shutzhund and they have never even raised and trialed their own dog!

I am a he and my sense of humor varies.
and I do have tolerance for those that like other dogs. I love all dogs, even the dogs I'll never own. I've been around all sorts, lap dogs, pet dogs, hunting dogs, beagles, labs, retrievers, mals, dutchies, GSD's, mixes, etc. I don't think I've ever met a dog I haven't liked. I haven't thought much of a lot of owners, but that's different.
I really don't care what kind of dog people want or like or chose to work with or do sport or whatever. and I will tell you that there are people that compete in schutzhund that absolutely test the heck out of their dogs when they train it, to push to find that weakness and use that knowledge to breed better dogs, dogs capable of all sorts of work, not just biting a sleeve. You know, like it's been done for the past 100 years or so.
There are a lot that pay lip service to work and schtuzhund and what a gsd is, just like the founder of the shiloh's and those people are no better. You think I cut them some slack cause they have a title on their breeding dogs or their dog bit a sleeve? Hardly.
This is easy to solve, quit riding the coat tails of the GSD and the reputation built over the years. If you're not doing what was done to create the breed YOU are part of the problem. That encompasses a lot of breeders. Take down all the marketing related to GSD's, quit referencing GSD's and just call your dogs what they are and be honest about it.
oh, and I don't bite, until told :)

.. I shit on people who shit on people who do shutzhund and they have never even raised and trialed their own dog!
--------------------
but you think it is just fine to SH** on Ms. Barber and the Shiloh -- this thread was originally about the Shiloh. There are a few on here that are against that Breed of dog and have been quite rude about it. Back atcha !
Schutzhund is just a Sport -- nothing more, nothing less.
