I have big black GSD ... YOUR RESULTS MAY VARY ... I cook meats for puppies until 8 weeks ... easier to digest and I don't feed them any bones. Smaller breeds such as pocket dogs may not do well on raw ... if it hurts don't do it. By 3 months my GSD puppies in a puppy pack formation will make an entire whole raw chicken disappear and have fun doing it but by three months they weigh more than some of the tiny breeds. Some dogs apparently do not do well on some raw meats. On the other hand the racing greyhound kennels have fed raw 4D meat to their greyhounds for many generations. There is no one food or feeding regimen for all dogs but raw is not a problem if you feed high quality food ... I would always feed human grade first if worried about your dogs digestive system.

After doing a little research it appears the FDA does not think the raw food is harmful to our pets but to us as previously stated. I'm confused though since most raw feeders are feeding the same exact meat they're feeding their human family.... So I'd imagine the risk would be the same if you choose to eat and handle meat for yourself too....

I know a LOT of people who give garlic to their dogs as a natural means to prevent fleas, they swear by it and have had no problems, so I don't know what to think about this warning?

I know a LOT of people who give garlic to their dogs as a natural means to prevent fleas, they swear by it and have had no problems, so I don't know what to think about this warning?

A vet (who actually keeps up on their continuing education including nutrition) and i were talking about this one day because i to feed a little garlic in a few different recipes. She states that the concern with garlic is that it is a cousin to onions which have proven too be harmful in a lot of dogs. She also stated that as of then, she was not aware of any factual antidotal however because of its relationship they error on the side of caution.

Just food for thought, pun intended, something to think about if you feed garlic
