In fact my dog is a large GSD and is faster than most dogs of any breed, certainly more athletic than most GSD.

A hot day of hours of work, as in work for 8-10 hours and you see why lighter frame dogs have the advantage. Do it every day and the heavier dog will self destruct.  

 

I know a big as Rott used for demos, decoys have a lot of trouble with him and become rag dolls. Same dog on the street parades in front of a CCTV at regular intervals but off camera the dog is locked in a crate because he has no endurance and is useless for sustained output.

Mithuna has riposted more than once that his Vet told
him Anna wasn't overweight. I have spent a lifetime
battling a veterinary profession that insists on telling
dog owners that its alright not to be able to see any ribs,
as long as you can feel them by pressure. Then that
same bunch of Vets get all shocked and horrified by the
expansion of the biggest pet obesity crisis we've ever
known.

Also, since Mithuna announced the way his dog behaves
with his Vet, I have considerable doubt about how thorough
an examination she gets at his Vet's surgery (office).
OP might want to consider whether he was just being told
what s/he thought he wanted to hear.

you seem to be transferring the typical media/ Hollywood driven body image of a gaunt / anorexic looking bleach blonde with classic " white girl booty ", onto this situation. I prefer a different build...gimme a J Lo, if its white gimme a whooty that can twerk. By proxy I prefer a dog with a more robust build.

No, I'm really not, Mithuna. Honestly. I can sympathise
with dogs who get very creaky and painful long before
they ought to (through old age), or who develop heart
or diabetes problems, that's all.
There is nothing more disgusting to see than a genuinely
UNDERweight, malnourished, emaciated dog - or teenage
girl model ! - I am not pro that, in any way.
BUT I can manage my own arthritis by deciding what to
eat, what meds to take & how much; our dogs rely on US
for all that, they do not have the control; it is therefore up
to us to make sensible decisions for them.
