bubbabooboo; When I refer to the GSD brand I am refering to an ideal for the breed. When I refer to an organization I refer to any group which steps up to further the breed's cause. When I refer to a ''watch dog'' please envision the perfect specimen of the GSD [ your vision or for the matter anybodys perfect dog] I see people who watch the bean counters and program makers, ready to make the good fight. Some you guys are WAY off base.  WDA's 990 forms from 2012 & 2013 are not available through the Foundation Center website currently, but 2011 is up:

Their EIN is 25-1620274 and reported a total revenue of $208,860 in 2011, not bad for a small non-profit organization with no salaried staff and what is assumed to be less than 200 members (we'll assume for now the comments on this post about membership numbers are accurate).  Here is thier Guidestar profile:

USCA has thier 990 forms from 2011 & 2012 up, but to comapre apples to apples to the WDA 990, here is thier 2011 return:

Thier EIN is 94-2661522 and reported a total revenue of $585,490 in 2011.  Should we assume that this mean that USCA has 3 times the number of members of WDA?  Expense wise I see roughly the same percentages spent on travel, etc with USCA as I do with WDA, nothing "fishy" about either really.  Plus USCA has salaried staff, while WDA does not.  Here is thier Guidestar profile:

I get a great laugh about the auditor statements.....
Do you think a huge auditing corporation, or even a small one would risk their reputation (and possibly license) on such a small account.....
Come on now.......that's just silly.

 

Momosgarage, you can assume that the UScA holds more trials and shows. 
A portion of each entry fee goes to the national club and its a significiant portion of the club's yearly income.

We held a show last year and paid our national club 675$ for entry fees.
Our club's members in total, paid the national club $400 in yearly dues.

Also the yearly dues for UScA are $100  and last year WDA were $50......so higer income doesn't necessarily mean more members, its much more complicated then that.

Plus each club must pay a fee anually.

Really who gives a shit how many members USCA has?  It doesn't matter if it's 10, they are economically solvent and will be for many years to come.  WDA is done.....

I'm wondering who is really done in the long run.........

WDA has a paid employee--office manager.  Last reports were of more than 550 WDA members (not 200).
