hardly see anything of SAR here unfortunately so post away, i will enjoy the pics.

i got three hound mutts, if they were not so game and animal focussed i would have like to have done some competition style man scenting, not SAR per se as that is serious stuff only for the most dedicated, SAR is as far from sport as it gets imo.

vk4gsd,
Nice diatribe.  I think my post was pretty accurate, and I was more than fair with you.  I never said the US was the mecca of the working GSD.  I would think someone in Belgium, like Steve1 would be in a good position to see some great dogs.  Germany, Holland, Czech, Canada all have some great GSD's and you can see and work plenty of great dogs.  Yes, the US also has some great dogs.  You can see all of these countries and many more compete in National and World Championships.  You really don't see GSD's from Australia competing at the world level.   It seems I may have struck a nerve and hopefully that may cause you to open your eyes a little bit.  I'm glad that you have watched Kim's videos, he is an excellent trainer with some seriously strong dogs.  You could learn an awful lot from him and many others on here.  Watch his videos again and make a note of how well not just the young dogs work, but how the older dog's work too.  So stop being a drongo and try to learn something.

vk4GSD sure knows the hot buttons to press on the PDB  Devil Smile. Look how many responded needing to prove to him/her that their dogs are the real deal Wondering

Of course I am proud of my accomplishments with dogs I have raised and trained from  8 weeks of age to winning things like VP3 senior puppy class at USCA Sieger as well as SG placements and a BH, working onward to our IPO1 H.O.T. ,as well as a 24/7 service dog in one package to mitigate my medical disabilities enough to compete with him.... I am also content with service I provided as a volunteer for others and if I can encourage just one handler to pick up where I cannot anymore, then more people can be helped. I cannot find any shame in this, so sorry you feel the need to critisize this than to see it is awesome that a thread that started out so the other direction is turned out well and on the database no less. A gap was bridged, and discussion happened.

vk there are a couple SAR people here. It just seems that working threads do not fare well despite how many working line dog people there are here. It is quite the conundrum. I have spoken with some privatly and follow their efforts so maybe if we ask nicly some will post for all to see.

I wasn't actually talking to you Newbie. I know what you do with your dog.

The OP is a troll. Why encourage him or her to goad members like Slam and Kim to prove their dogs' worthiness? Their accomplishments in the GSD working world are well known and respected.  They don't need to convince anyone. Their actions speak louder than any words. Threads like the one addressing muzzle work are their area of expertise. IMO they should not feel obligated to defend their dogs to a troll.

Slam and Priate strike me as confident and capable of hearing from a troll without slamming their bedroom door shut and crying on their pillows.... I doubt anyone can make a dent there.  :) I  have enjoyed Pirates videos long while and Slam is pretty awesome as well, even though I have not been back in Va Beach in couple years to take him up on offer to come out to training.

Experttise to me, means excelling in all levels and capable of supporting others in all phases not just certain ones people feel they should only be spending thier time.

To address the OP...I have zero interest in defending my dog, my training or what I like. This is not "real" life, this is the internet. I do get bored every so often and I come in here to see if anything interesting is posted and I do find VK's posts amusing, he does like to provoke although I think he does it while inebriated. He likes what he likes, just like we all do.
GSD Newbie, I wish that everyone could be an expert in all things dog related, but, that is not realistic, we all have our areas of interests and expertise and we tend to stick to them. Have a great Sunday.

Ahhh, Blitzen KIm and I have no need to defend our dogs.  We know what we have in our dogs, the good points and the bad points.  I work dogs and enjoy it, it is a passion of mine.  I come here because I enjoy talking about dogs and training.  There are many members on here that I respect and enjoy "talking dogs" with.  I am not here to impress anyone, I don't take this place personally.

I don't know how anyone could take VK4 seriously, much less try to enlighten said troll.
