You can get Safeguard for goats (same thing as panacur for dogs) at Jeffers Pet for about $17.95 and this bottle lasts me several years for my herd of gsd's.

My vet ordered a whole pound of it for me and sold it for his cost.
the liquid form may be a bit less expensive than the graduals.

This stuff works great for most all worms, including tapes.

Ivomec Gold horse wormer will take care of all worms including tapeworms... Also Safeguard,(Fenbenazole) cattle wormer does the same thing... We recently bought a 9gm, (3.2oz) tube of Safeguard wormer for Beef and Dairy cattle. One tube deworms a total of four, 1,000lbs cattle. It breaks down to 2.32cc for 100lbs of dog weight... Total price $35.95.... We have been using this for a while now and this has been the best we have used so far... CAN'T beat that price!!

Do any of the companies provide a vet prescription, if needed.

No no vet scripts--you have to provide your own.

Keith- are you actually dealing with tape worms, or were you looking for a general dewormer if you don't mind me asking? Ivomec and panacur are great general dewormers, but they do not do the first thing for the type of tape of tapeworm that we commonly see and think about called dipylidium caninum. Instead, it kills the taenia species, which we never really see anyway. What panacur IS fantastic at is killing hooks, rounds and whips, if given for 3 consecutive days and then re-dosed in 3 weeks and again in 12 weeks for whip worms. Just saw this and wanted to give a little info. Hope it helps =)
