Jeff,
I watched your video of Buko, what is so special that a female handler couldn't get the same results or better?  That is the best video I have seen of Buko, he seems to be a decent dog.  I know female handlers that definitely could have improved his overall performance.  I really think he would have benefited from a female handler from the start.  He obviously didn't handle your pressure very well or your training methods.  I can't get past the video of him breaking the long down under gunfire and running away.  That video says a lot to me about the dog and your training methods, way more than the face attack video.

entertaining...

people who have never handled a dog are the champs here, women screw the breed and in the end we will all end up bitching no matter what way the breed will go.

good luck and cheers to the dog!

Reading the topic heading of this thread, I cannot help thinking of Rene Lancaster and her poor, weak, oversensitive Don Dreidorfereck son Axel von Markfeld.

I don't see how a dog failing to respect a female handler -- which I *have* seen -- has anything to do with that dog being hard or strong. I think it has more to do with something in the dog's upbringing and or the way his brain is wired. Again, the dog I knew who didn't respect women handlers wasn't a weak dog, but he sure wasn't the hardest dog I've ever seen.

How did he produce ?

He doesn't have a single progeny listed on PDB. I know he was bred a few times--but I guess they were unremarkable.

"Yes Thomas, they will definately improve."

Good news, but more importantly will mine? :-)

I've got a new female Dobermann you'll like Arya
and a male GSD Gwrgenau you'll be impressed with (I think?)

I wouldn't expect a dog to respect an unfamiliar handler, male OR female!  That's contrary to the breed standard which says our breed is supposed to be aloof to strangers.

Respect is earned, and takes time.

Sharon Mehagiva and Sam Beit Haboxer (who I believe were the 2009 WUSV champs)..

I don't remember saying that women couldn't do well. Are these dogs what people consider strong dogs ?

It looks like happy playtime to me.

Out of all the video,s posted here I really don,t see any thing that makes me say WOW thats a STRONG dog. There nice video,s in there respective competitions but to me there ALL bassed in Prey and High prey doenst mean strong dog. Not saying the dogs arent strong but in all honesty I don,t believe there is a sport that is designed around the strength of the breed or any breed for that matter.

A handler hard dog in my opinion doesn,t mean a strong dog either. I guess we will all breed and seek what we like (the heart wants what the heart wants) names and verbs and descriptions will be to our liking.
