Female handlers weakening the breed?!? - Page 3

It is my opinion ( notice I said opinion not fact or actuality) that GSD are being weaked because we no longer have the need for a super strong working dog.  True working homes are few and far between, breeders are breeding for more of a pet/home guardian market or they bred for themselves.  Alot of these purchasers have little or no dog experience and are ill equiped to handle a strong working animal. No choice really as in this day of I sue you you sue me, strong dogs are a liability not an asset.   In other countries this may not be the case but in North America we have to be aware of this when producing litters. Has zippo to do with female handlers.  We all know how I feel about Handler aggressive animals.  They should not be bred period.  Handler aggression does not mean a hard dog, it means the dog is a dink. German shepherds were bred to work WITH a handler.  To me this is a huge temperment fault.  In other breeds it doesnt bother me as much as in the GSD.

It's kinda like cooking. The best chefs in the world tend to be males. Most meals are cooked by women and as a whole, they are better than men. In my experience, I've seen more women give up that tough dog than men. Men think they can overcome. Maybe women are smarter. Like Q man said, most women are more patient and more often, that is the best approach. I just wish they'd be more patient with men. We just fricken invented fire. We are evolving. Cut us some slack.

Don't forget claudia, vickie, Debbie, etc. But I don't think Jeff was talking about great handlers. I think Jeff was talking about something different. More like Cathy.

If you guys (gals) let Jeff ruffle your feathers then you will be stirred up all the time.

I do have to complement him on causing all this controversy and not one single curse word (or calling a dog a shi**er). The boy has stepped up his game.

I don't think that women can handle strong dogs, they 9 the dogs jim)  don't listen to them. Most breeders here are women, and so, the decline of that kind of dog. The fact that so many are confused clearly shows that only ONE of you have ever seen what I am talking about.

My dog Esko passed  a leg on his MR1 with about 5 training sessions with the girls and my buddys Kevin and Drake. Obedience was done in a field after work, just me. He got a 185. Give me a decoy and a club, and I would have aced it.

How many can say that ? Don't worry Jim, you won't have to swim very hard, I will pull you along behind me.

By the way, it is my opinion based on experience. Never saw a female handler that could get those dogs to do anything, as they did not respect them. Considering this started in a different thread, maybe people think if they tell me I am wrong to have this opinion over and over and over and over and over, that somehow it will change my mind. Hmmmm.
