the sire was born in my basement....AXEL was a real brute(when he wasn't sleeping)not a haggler or bully, but a real confident pup! he'd amble about the welping area thru the other pups as if they weren't even there,i'm currently  working his littermate(A-DINO).on MAY 5,2009...we sadly had to decide to pup AXEL'S sire(ENZO VOM DUNHILL) down, due to kidney and prostate problems...we'll miss "THE BIG GUY"...he was one of those once in a lifetime dogs!!!!! good luck with the pups twomoons and thanx for posting the pics...i should be able to post pics of my litter soon(C-DEMERLINA VON SUDLICH PLATZ X TOM VOM SUNNENBRINK)

Took Midnite to the river today, she was glad to get away for a bit.
Pups have their eyes open and starting to crawl around more now.
I get tickled listening to then growl and grumble, little practice barks.
Got my first big dose of puppy breath also today, starting to handle them more now.
Finally we've had a couple of really nice days.
I'll get more pictures when they start coming out to play.

Pharaoh

Moons,

Does that mean there will be more pictures soon?

There were two black male pups in Pharaoh's litter.  Both parents are sables and obviously, carried the black gene.

I dubbed Pharaoh and his brother Nash the Soul Brothers.  They stuck to each other like their shoulders were glued together.

Here they are at six weeks (and I hope this inspires you to take more pictures).

i am happy to say that i have confirmed that this little guy is going to bring me and my daughter much joy in the future.i cannot wait 6 weeks till this guy comes here.there is just no words for explaining the sudden loss of our last guy,but we have learned so much through him both in life and death.we will give this guy the best home possible.i know you can never replace a lost pet but the lessons learned will go far toward being a better owner to this one.thanks moons.

Its really hot and humid today,
The pups have decided out is better than in..
My other bitch Maddie is baby sitting while mom takes a break.
I'll get a couple of pics maybe.
All are doing well and have become very vocal lately.

Mom,
Checking out her favorite hole,

Maddie keeping watch,

Puppies taking it easy,

I took Midnite for a quick walk in the woods and netted three ticks on her and three on me.
One of the draw backs of living here.

I love all the black dogs on this page, pups and posters alike. Recently got a blackie myself, I love him! Question??? moons what do you do about ticks? The ticks are out of control in my area. In the past I used frontline on my dogs. Didn't know there was so much controversy about chemicals. Since my last shep had cancer I gotta wonder now if I subjected him to that. God I hope not. Is there any natural way to prevent them? I tried garlic long ago with a poodle I had but she still got them. What do you use/do?  Your pups are gorgeous! Another ? what will you feed them once they are whelped?

Thanks for sharing!  They sure grow fast.  Loved the shot of them all crashed out and sprawled out.  What does Mom think is in that hole anyway?
