puppy exercise - how much is too much - Page 2

I carry my dogs to areas where the socialising and absorbing sounds, smells etc when they havent had all their vaccinations.

I dont believe in keeping them in 3 -4 weeks just for that so they get carried to areas where there is too much dog traffic.  Also the trip to school is 25 mins and I can walk it quicker than I can drive it but it is too far for a very young puppy so I carry it with me.

Puppies often go up stairs early but find it difficult to come back down and I never push them to come back down and if they get caught out I just pick them up and bring them down.  Its probably a good thing to install a gate or barrier whilst your pup is small as it is extra strain that they can do without, plus I have seen some dogs scare themselves on stairs at an early age and it becomes a huge hurdle for them to overcome.
