I do really think the right thing is to put Quenn as VA1 (if Zamp doesn't show up). Quenn is about 5 1/2 years and everything is clear for him to be the sieger for the best of the german shepherd dog. He also got a fantastic good HD-breedvalue at 80 after quit a long time at stud. He also gives the right type, colors and anatomy we have been missing for years. He is also a very good individual for marketing the GSD in general.

For me Vegas is to me NOT as a GSD shall be - thinking about working abilities... Also problems with loose ears after him (following the Bax-line). Also to small. But of course as a individual - a fantastic looking male. He will for sure get his VA again - but is not a male for my breeding plans.

Aron della terrad dei forti is a fantastic male - BUT - why put a HD-dangours male in the VA. A serios judge can't do that. But for sure  - I believe he maybe will be in the VA-group... His motherline includs dogs without breedsurvey aswell - and will of this reason have problems to get in the VA-group.

Negus is the one and only son after Zamp that really will be in the VA. He breeds extremely good - and will become sieger in a quit few years.

Another Zamp-son that will be amoung the top10 males is Sirio della Real Favorita. He got this extremely good pigment and gives fantastic pups thats growing better and better as they grow up. Siro also got a very good breed valu. His mother is sister to the mother of Neus. The R-litter from Holkämper See is one of the best breeding motherlines in the world today - no doubt !

Another male that will be among the top5 in the VA-group is for quarantied Odin vom Holtkämper Hof - last year VA8. One of a big number of fantastic studs/males from the Holtkämper See/Hof/Tor family (father and sons).

I thought  Who was on second.

by sbstein on 07 August 2008 - 17:08

I quess...:

1 Quenn v Löher Weg (Zamp if he comes)
2 Negus vom Holtkämper See (A zamp-son that really earns this place)
3 Vegas du Haut Mansard
4 Odin vom Holtkämper Hof

I also quess some youngsters as Irok Karanberg will go in a high ranked place.

I think Vegas...with Quenn and Agassi to follow. And Zamp if he shows....also hoping Djenges goes VA...

Kelly...I haven't really seen anything good drive or nerve wise out of Nando. They are either fearful or defensive. I don't see real nice structure out of him either...neither top nor bottom lines. I do like their heads.

What's on second , who's on first.

by sbstein on 07 August 2008 - 23:08

It will be a big surprice if Agassi show up again... He allready got the best result a norwegian dog ever had in Germany.
Djenges is only a PHOTOSHOP dog as all the dogs owned by Altenberger Land - thats no secret...

Two Moons - read and you'll see...

If Quenn doesn't get his VA1 this year I'm going to loose all faith in SV... Putting Vegas there is not right at all

Like I said...there's more to a dog than color. Djenges has SUPER bitework last year. This to me is a big plus...who cares the color....!!!!!

Trying to bring back the work in our showlines should be priority!!! We should be looking at the dogs with good work first and foremost as our showlines have become quite soft...which is no secret.

I am sure Agassi is there again...he is owned by a German judge!!! And if politics are correct..Vegas will be VA1!!!

Interesting to know about Nando, perhaps I'm just talking to those that like their dogs.

Color is nice but unimportant, definitely.

This will be fun to see!!

I think that Vegas will be the VA1  dog due to the fact his father, Pakros was VA in 2007. The pattern seems to be VA given from Father to Son. Color is not the heart and soul of the dog. Either the dog has the heart to do the work or it doesn't.  If it cannot, then NO VA, PERIOD!

VA2 to Ingodds Agassi

VA3 Nando vom Gollerweiher

VA4 Djenges Kahn v Sante's Home

I also like these dogs which were not mentioned. I hope that they will be entered this year.

The V6 dog from 2007, Bazi von der Urbecke

V15  dog Ghandi vom Baronenwald

V19 Tiras vom Rotenfeld
