With all due respect VERCHIEL I could barely read what you wrote because of your "common typo" for the word "The". The is a very simple word to spell out, even a kindergartner wouldn't make this kind of mistake. If you want people to take you seriously at least act professional and by doing that you should reread what you write and fix up as many errors as you can before clicking the submit button.

If you want to take my advice... Download  a free copy of Openoffice at OpenOffice.org (equalization to Microsoft OfficeXP) and use the open office writer to type your post and then do a complete spell check.

I don't think there's much you can do but learn a lesson...try talking to a lawyer to find out, but pretty much, control the papers until the deal is finished at LEAST.

I had something SOMEWHAT similar happen, I provided a gentleman with my older dog (xrayed and titled etc) to be his personal pet/protection dog, as well as to breed to an approved female (xrayed etc). I was to get 3 puppies back for the dog, and was to be granted first right of refusal should he ever want to rehome the dog. A litter of pups was born and I received one puppy, when we went to go get this pup the owner had I thought jokingly said "so do ya want him back?" after I had hugged the dog and missed him etc. Apparently that constituted my turning up my right of refusal. The next thing I knew the dog was for sale here on the database (all those threads and ads have been removed and it's taken care of now). He still owed me 2 pups on the dog, and since the ad said that brokers were welcome, and I had thought this dog was going to his forever home (that was my sole intention) I was kind of glad he did because it gave me some sway to get the dog back. I ended up contacting a lawyer and finding I had some of a case using my written contract, and I went up and got my dog back, had to pay for that first puppy we had already started raising though, and because of the circumstances he charged me far more then what she was worth, but I learned a valuable lesson. I should have at LEAST not signed over the papers until the dog was paid for in full. (the dog is fine now and well loved, I am now handling one of his sons so it worked out in the long run, after a lot of heartache).

Thank you shasta - sounds like you  had a really hard  time yourself.

I dont  know ifi mentione it HERE or on teh dogs comments  ( on his bio  on this site)

but what  i did was    when he came to get the dogs he paid   me in full for one-  and didnt have  the  $ for the other-  as he lived about 6  hours away( one way)   i  did the contract - and i did hold teh dogs papers  - until  final payment-

basically what he did was -  he pay paled,-( via his sisters   account) -  me teh final payment - i mailed teh paerwork to him(  heath records registration  & pedigree )   THEN  2 weeks later  she contacted paypal &  had the  funds RETURNED to HER as  "fradulant    payment"

when i contacted pay pal -  they  always take teh BUYERS side  ( and  said that teh  owner of te account reported the transaction as fradulent)

they said they could do nothing exceppt  document it for me fo rcivil court.

  BUT

i did  finally get teh  final payment - his friend and a girl i knew  that also used to do rescue  paid me FOR me-  as  she didnt want to see me drag  him to court.

NOW -  he has not contacted me about teh pups-   his friend said teh litter  is expected  on  july 31st

BUT she said  he thinks its a false pregnancy ( which  makes me wonder why on hoobly he is "accepting deposits") ?

I think he simply doesnt want to honor teh contract as  he is selling teh pups for 1200  each - and  YET owes me 2  at  250.00 EACH)  so  in  his mind he is losing $.

yet  when he wanted teh dogs and  i told him  i would sell them at  250  a peice   -  to him IN exchange  for    teh  2 pups   once teh dogs were proven-   he was fine with it- THAT is in teh contract.

so i guesss that will be a wait  & see  thing.

i may  have to sue him - and he will still make out  as  IF  i can only get  $  i will only get 500.00  - I  prefer teh  2 pups .

( ad  i didnt want BOTH from one litter -  as i dont wish to deal with 2 pups  at the  same time anyway ( i am NOT a fan of puppys)  -  i told him i would PROBABLY  do    one from    a litter  and one from another litter-  depending on  when   i was ready  and   which litter i liked teh best . BUT my  contract  is for 2 pups  and  doessnt specify  i MUST   only  take  one per litter.)

basically he is just being stubborn & a jerk.

I also HIGHLY  dobt the orignal breeder   who  registered the dogs   signed off on this guy  changing teh dogs name.

I do not know if  bears ( Bero)   name was changed  ?- i will look see on the  K9  site where he is in training  as  he may already be up  for sale   i  am not  certain. it is possible though.

but  viggo's (  bob) name  def.   was changed -  and i REALLY doubt the breeder is aware of that -  after all -   with Bear  on his way to being a  DP  K9-  and  viggo  on his way to being a  narc dog ( and both dogs are doing VERY VEY well-  i would THINK teh original breed

YUP  he has the pups   for sale on this  board as well: ( odd he is telling me  that he "doubts the dog  is  pregnant )

that female LOOKS  VERY  pregnant to me.

BERO's  name  was  NOT changed -  that is the one owned by the training place now.

EVERY word that Jen Kind printed was a lie.  She isn't a very truthful person.  What happend was NOT DONE ON PURPOSE!!   But was an accident. AS soon as it was found out he did EVERYTHING he could to put the $100.00 back, Paypal woul;dn't let him. So I did it for him and he paid me back within 5 minutes. Jen Kind souldn't open her mouth until she KNOWS what the truth  really is. Shame on you Jen!!!

YES you can change the AKC name now,  go call them and see for yourself. What is the matter with people now a days?  How can you condem without KNOWING the truth!!!!!  If Jen doesn't print a retraction of her lies,  THEN she should go to court and pay up.  How could YOU BE SO STUPID Jen???  You are guilty 150% for Slander and Libel.

For what it's worth, here is some information on how and when a dog's name may be changed on its AKC registration papers:

American Kennel Club News Article
AKC Rule Change Allows Owners to Rename Their Dogs

Date of Article: March 25, 2008

The American Kennel Club® (AKC) is pleased to announce a registration rule change that now allows owners of AKC registered dogs to change the official name of their pet. Dogs are eligible if they were born in the U.S., have never been bred, or have not won any awards at an AKC event.

"We have a lot of interest from AKC registered dog owners looking to rename their dogs," said David Roberts, AKC's Assistant Vice President of Registration. "In most cases, the dog is a beloved pet and the owner would like to pick a name that has special value to them. The new rule allows owners to change the name when transferring their AKC registered dog, or to request a name change at any time."

Previously, a policy was in place that only allowed the owner to change a dog's name if the dog had been individually registered by its breeder and the request was accompanied by written permission from the breeder. The new regulation reads:

"The name of a dog registered with The American Kennel Club will be allowed to be changed provided the dog was whelped in the United States and in cases where the breeder(s) first individually registered the dog, their written consent would be required. A dog name containing a Registered Kennel Name cannot be changed without the written consent of the owner(s) of that Registered Kennel Name.

However, no change in the name will be recorded by The American Kennel Club after the dog has produced or sired an AKC registered litter or received an award at an AKC licensed or member event.

Any name change must comply with all AKC requirements."
The service fee for a name change is $25. The Dog Name Change Authorization form is located online. The completed form can be faxed to the AKC at: 919-816-4261 or mailed to the address on the application.

This will be my one and only response to Jen and her bullshit.

Rio was a female I bought for competition.  She was about ready for her BH when I found out she had moderate HD.  She lived in the house with both my other dogs and cats.  She was very dominant but at the time, not aggressive with other dogs.  She would stalked the cats but never actually got ahold of one.  She was always separated from them when nobody was home.  She was doing long downs with other dogs working on the field and was quite relaxed about the whole thing.

I adopted her out and a few months later he contacted me saying he couldn't handle her and he told me where he'd been keeping her--in an outdoor pen.  I put her back on my website and was in contact with the guy daily.  I knew Jen and she contacted me ABOUT HAVING RIO FOR HERSELF.  There was no mention of "oh that poor dog needs rescue" just "I want that dog for my own pet!"  Her and the guy went back and forth for several weeks working out transportation.  I told both her and him that I was in no position to take her back at the time and to make sure it was going to work.  She insisted she could handle her and she would have a great forever home.

Jen knew about the type of temp. she had and what she would need to watch out for.  It didn't last long before Rio was on her rescue site and I starting hearing all kinds of horror stories about her behavior.  I put her back on my website to rehome.  Yes, I did tell her I couldn't take her back and I had my reasons.  I got emails saying she was doing better now she might keep her....yada yada.  I finally tuned her out.

Now on to Bero.  I spotted an ad on Hoobly that Jen placed saying she had a 9 month old German Shepherd male for sale and that he would be READY FOR BREEDING IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS.  I tracked the dog's breeder down by the name of the dog and yes, he's a member on this board.  He was more than a little pissed off.  Seems that the original buyers had just given these dogs to Jen to adopt out and she was turning around and selling them as breeding animals.

Unfortunately Hoobly doesn't keep ads in a cache so the ad is gone but I do still have all the PM's with said breeder.

She's not a rescue...she's a get them free and turn around and sell them.
