Thanks all for the help. I appreciate it very much. I have been printing them out and posting some of these comments, and some PMs I have recieved, up on my bulletin board to study and consider.
Thank you Ms. Yellowrose...but Autumn wants a female, thank Goodness. Athos would not take a young whippersnapper infringing on his harem with good grace :-)
It looks like I'll probably be saving a while longer for her dog, but I'll put the time to good use. Veronica

Look at
E.T. von Sendling, SchH3 located in Texas, or his LGA qualified son Cash von Stendebach, SchH3 located up North.

Hey Ms. Yellowrose.....There MIGHT have been bears in the yard, but I didn't see them since I saw the one big black bear last week. And I DO live in the city limits! Vikki, who was helping me by picking up poop, found bear poop three feet from the back porch. I don't really worry much about the bears anymore, it is Ms. Moose who I'm afraid of. She's charged me AND my 12 year old daughter in our own yard area. Autumn was saved by my dog Arwin, who threw herself in front of the moose barking like a machine gun and turned her away.
I've asked the Anchorage police what to do about this one particular ill-tempered moose, but they say that they don't know what I can do, call Fish and Game. I thought I'd go visit F and G in person soon to talk to them...this moose is dangerous. And she spends a lot of time on our property.
Ummm...showline dog needed who is also courageous enough to stop a charging moose.
Some people have snakes to worry about, I just have bears and moose.
