???????

I have enjoyed this thread and there should be more like this.A gsd should have a free flying of trot in order to examine how the dog is moving freely from front to back.In trot they should appear as they move effortlessly like they walk on water. No part of their body drawing them down.In watching the back in this movement in a free trot if the dog is capable. There should be little or no movement. In a free trot..The dog should be capable of traveling MUCH distance even if the snout is to the ground or the head is naturally high set.It all depends on the balance of the dog.

Blitzen, I don't think it would be wise to comment on a photo.Sue B.Do you do working with your dog? The UK is very small and I had talked with some old schoolers there who used to be involved with the Scottish yard...now involved with Cruft. The most important thing with the gsd is to preserve what is left of genetics and not breed upon the acceptable. This may be off track in this thread. But bare with me.Setting aside the balance of the dog in movement.Does that dog have air scent..ground scent naturally? Herding sense? water sense? Will he/she aid naturally.Too often their is too much emphasis on our gains and we forget the true gsd of ww1..ww2 and what they did.In this country for those coming home..two organizations were started to aid for the blind. In the third..there is semen kept. The gsd has been bred down...to serve just one purpose of them and then the breeding snowballs as with so many breeds.I would also like to add comment..forgive in advance to the person whom had said to another poster.Basically..show what you have done in order to make comment. When a culture exists wheras a person has to show...the medals in order to speak.Thats a sad day.The format is about learning not judgement.Just my thoughts.

Why were they posted if not to elict comments?

I guess it would be okay if the person doesn't mind.

I wouldn't make any comments unless the owners approved.

That is good.
