What an absolute honour is was to see, meet and be licked by the most fabulous male I have ever set eyes on, his family are the loveliest people anyone could wish to meet, the sweet young Lisa handled her boy with ease and as they glided around both rings they were a real sight to see, a day never to be forgotten. We should all be very greatful that this wonderful family honoured us with Zamp's presence, he has absolutely nothing to prove, yet they made the long trip over for us all to see him. The ringside was really buzzing and with more than the just the Gsd fraternity, something I have never experienced at Crufts before. We should all thank his family for giving us this opportunity to see a true Gsd in every sense of the word at Crufts 2008. Well done to Zamp and the Dieterich family, please visit the UK again soon...and come and stay with us next time, Sue has had you already : ) Sorry Sue couldn't resist.

To sue b:

still not able to read english and understand posts i see.

i never commented on the girls handling-and like everyone else at crufts saturday i could see that zamp was by far the best dog every to grace our shores-and any person with the slightest interest in gds's would have made him best of breed.all the other class winners though are judges in the main are they not ? and sue b, you still keep a straight face and wonder why the entries and crowds are leaving in droves-why was it by the way that a show breed as large as ours didn't turn out in huge numbers at the biggest show in the world- i wonder !!!

Thanks for the photos, fda.  That's what I was looking for......the natural, candid shots in the ring. I gather the young girl in jeans is the actual owner.  Perfect.  Wish I could have been there.  Beautiful dog.  I must say, you take a good picture. Any more? (LOL)

Thank you, thank you thank you fda, what beautiful, natural pics, and his young owner is obviously very very proud of her boy, and with good reason. Nothing overdone or exagerated,  surely the shepherd everyone dreams of owning.

Agios, you lucky girl, i would have queued round the block to get a cuddle from Zamp!  You wont forget that in a hurry i suspect.!

The pleasure that Zamp gave to the vast number of people around the GSD ring at CRUFTS 2008 was incredible, both inside and outside of the ring.

Zamp and his owners gave their utmost in pleasing the miriad of admirers who visited him on and near his bench. Perhaps this unstinting  and generous behaviour by Zamp and his owners towards his admirers played a part in tiring him a little for the big ring.

Whatever, I am delighted that Zamp was so fully appreciated by everybody who saw and met him, his visit, although brief has left a lasting memory for so many.

I agree  Zamp and his family gave his admirers everything and more, I know us Geordie lot had tears in our eyes when Lisa was asked if Zamp would sit with a 99 year old lady in her weelchair for a photo (sorry did not catch the ladys name)..and this was just after winning open dog, when he should have been chilling out before the challenge..

Thanks Agios, David (Videx) and Joyce for your comments - they are so very relevant.

When I asked Lisa if they would consider bringing Zamp to be shown in England at Crufts, I explained how the breed in the UK was in need of a morale boost and the chance to view this superb specimen close up could possibly be all that was needed to re-inject some enthusiasm back into our show ring.

We can safely say Zamp's presence did that AND SO MUCH MORE. As Joyce so rightly pointed out, Lisa took the time to allow a photo with a lady in a wheelchair straight after Open Dog, In fact all day long Zamp was being patted, stroked, hugged and photographed by anyone and everyone.

Their generosity in sharing this Wonderful Male with all of us , all day long, was truly the most selfless acts any of us could ever have experienced from any owner / exhibitor, never mind those of the most famous GSD in the World.

Family Dieterich (my wonderful, kind, generous friends) , FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART (on behalf of ALL the genuine GSD fraternity here in the UK) I TRULY THANK YOU,  for coming here and sharing your beloved, handsome boy, so unselfishly with us all throughout the day.  God Bless and continue having a safe journey home, will await your next call again this evening when you arrive home.

Best Regards

Sue B
