I can't answer your questions about lexapro. However I do want to offer my condolances. And my heartfelt thanks to you for your sacrifice.

I offer you my most sincere condolences, and thank you for your supreme sacrifice. I take Lexapro, it does help, but seemed to increase my lethargy at first, and weight gain is an issue. I have, however, found myself able to drag myself out and am regaining my former get up & go, little by little. Exercise is also a good antidepressant. It's really hard to get yourself up to doing it, but even a little walk every day can help change your perspective and pump the neurotransmitters, and that helps you feel better. If you don't have a GSD, then get one! They make the walking more fun, a necessity( to potty & train), and when they grow up (if you get a puppy) you'll feel safer for having them around.
