As a mod on another forum, I'm not sure it's productive to have opinions or beliefs...meaning to state them. All I do is screw up when I do. You might have to be really impartial and not post on things you care about...ADD: but we don't have secret mods. I'm not sure why secrecy seems like a good idea either. I guess I think mods should be up front AND impartial. Hard. And that's why not everybody is good at it....such as myself. I suck. I listen to the wrong people and ban the wrong people. Sigh.

I see a bias. It is okay for the ones you dislike, but the ones you like well that is a different story.

I will not debate what happened with other members. I would then most certainly step over the line.

I have an opinion and if you don't like it, it is fine, but I would never allow my personal opinion to interfer with what I do as a mod.

I am a member of other boards where people are both moderators and members, and allowed to state their opinions, get just as rowdy as the other members, give just as good as they get,  BUT when they put on their moderator hat they must moderate fairly.  I think every CURRENT mod is doing a good job of moderating fairly, and that's really the bottom line, not what someone says when they are speaking as a member.

And Zmod hit the nail on the head.

I'll disagree with the part about EVERY current mod doing the job fairly but I do think that MOST including Zmod are and I have said so many times.

Now I understand why my posts on the President were deleted.

clee27:  I'm the moderator who did all the deleting on that thread, not anyone else.  I deleted every post that was not within the framework of the original topic at  the request of the original poster because the thread had gone completely off the tracks.  If you don't like the way I moderate, or feel I am being unfair, in the future please send me a PM so we can discuss.
Thanks,

I have no problem with anyone stating their opinion, however IMO for a mod posting as a regular member personally attacking someone's job, marriage etc, like you attacked Ladyfrost is terrible.

Co-signed.  German shepherd dog, when a moderator is participating in a thread by posting under their common user name, I believe you must be held to a higher standard of conduct than the rest of us, and in your ad hominem attacks on Lady Frost in the Bartmess thread I feel that line was crossed.

Everyone is certainly entitled to bad days and the snarkiness they can engender, but when a mod indulges in that under their common user name I believe it compromises their moderation--I kept wondering why no mod stepped in on the Bartmess thread and told you to quit the personal barbs; now I realize it was probably because you were the mod 'on duty' at the time, and who chastises themself?

As for the sturm und drang around hodie's absence, I can only say that she's much like the wind: she comes, stays and goes as she finds necessary; but when she stays, it's always a benefit to the community.
