Why do wimps always scream, "threat"? What threat? You must be a wimp.. You don't know what a real threat is, I think. I am certainly not making any threats. I only make suggestions and comments. I understand that people don't like them, sometimes, and sometimes they disagree, but I am actually a very helpful person. I don't thrive on drama and I don't set out to piss people off. On the other hand, I don't appreciate brain-pickers, time-wasters and the like. Whatever you want to do is fine by me, but don't ask my opinion if you don't respect it. THAT, to me, is game-playing. I don't have time for games, and I don't have interest in nonsense, either.

I did suggest to Olli already that he should start a dating section. I, for one, am NOT interested in dating, and NO ONE would be interested in dating me! Look at me! I'm a mess! I really need a shave, and I can't find my wig! At one point I needed a big stick to beat the boys and keep them at bay, but hell, I've been married for almost forty years! I don't want to hear that hot / sexxxy crap, either. I'd like to see it put into a different section, PLEASE!!!

It IS a good idea, but no one could do a better job of it than Olli.. There's a lot more to doing things than having an idea. The fact is that he knows how to run a database, and this is not something that you can just run on an idea. Nowadays, you have to have programming skills. I know he uses a very sophisticated database language.

I also had thought of doing a pedigree database, going back to the 80's. But, I never learned how to program. That's the difference. There's a huge amount of detail involved, and it requires staff, too.. as well as content.

I, for one, decided that I did not want to deal with running a server, writing scripts, making updates and addressing security concerns.. to say nothing of the costs and investments, and the nuisance of having to deal with the scammers and generally miserable people. You have two choices, straight away.. ignore them, or deal with them. Either option is bad. Once you start to deal with them, it never ends. The scammers are always one step ahead of you.

The one thing I would personally NEVER want to do is to trust my personal information to a website where there is any remote possibility of security breaches. If the webmaster doesn't have a good webhosting service and / or doesn't know how to protect their clients personal information, there's no way I would even ask for that kind of information. I just would not want that kind of responsibility.
