I always knew him as Ted,

The man made mistakes, who hasn't.
He also did good things.

What politician ever pleased everyone?

If I ever begrudged him anything it would have been his wealth and social status, my sin, envy.
I'm sure he knew what his sins were.

Whatever you thought of him he deserves some respect now at the time of his death.
At least wait until he is in the ground.......................

*  "I can simply post something I never did to show you that my record of public service surpasses Ted Kennedy's." *

.... I just wonder how many aborted babies would love to say such a thing ?  (I hate I read that thread. Darn it.)
How 'bout it sue, you think those parasites might have been one ? Or could of maybe, Mary Jo Kopechne's innocent child ? ... Where's LUVdemDOGS ... LMAO

Either ways sue, people like you and this here thug are no different in thinking, looks like your kind are plentyful this time in years. I just wonder what the topic of discussion was in that car that night ? You don't really care do you ? And you really don't want anyone else to give a damn either, do you ? You know how many miles that bridge was from the party ? Peace and quite all the way, huh ?

uh huh sure maggs whatever you  need to tell yourself, but this isn't about you, so move on, find someone else to pester.

Baby Eagle I believe you are referring to this thread:  www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/bulletins_read/307782.html#308712   I think people can read for themselves and make up their own minds.  Unfortunately for you most have pretty good reading comprehension.  I said nothing untoward in that thread.  As a matter of fact I hope people do read that thread.

Fitz152:  Thank you for your response and your 20+ years of service.

Senator Ted Kennedy served for more than 50 years, and was responsible for much legislation that ultimately allowed many Americans to lead better lives today such as the 1990 Americans With Disabilities Act, the Civil Rights Act of 1991, and ablolishing the draft.   While these causes he championed might not have effected you directly, while you may have even opposed his causes, that does not take away from the fact that he worked tirelessly  to effect a change he  thought would improve the lives of those less fortunate.

No one is saying what he did to  Mary Jo Kopechne is anything other than horrible and tragic.   While that was a defining moment in his life it was not the only defining moment.  He never lived it down, how could he?  We all know this.  Still, it's not for me to judge him, or forgive him.  I do appreciate the fact that instead of hiding away for the rest of his life, he tried to make a difference in the world.

I was taught differently MaggieMae,
Actually respect was the wrong word.
It all falls on deaf ears anyway.
I never had the chance to walk in his shoes, I wasn't in the car that night, and I don't know what went through his mind as he waited to die.
I was never a great fan of any of the Kennedy's, but they are all a part of our history.
I don't think you can hold a single man accountable for the laws and policies you may or may not agree with.
Thats not how politics work.

He was no saint thats for sure, but he was not the devil either.
He was just a Kennedy.

I just celebrated my 20th anniversary as a New Jersey Police Officer.

Well congrats Fitz152.....but just because you're a police officer doesn't make you deserving of praise for public service. Give me your info and I'll check for my self how deserving of you are! Go ahead...post your record of public service.  This country was in the shit can before Obama was elected! You MR. police officer...with your bloated salaries and compensation package....talking trash about the Commander....sure would like you backing me up...typical piggy! Come on big man...post your info!
