All talk, no action. Has any one here ever tried shutting down a puppy mill? Unless there are obvisous signs of abuse or extreme neglect, (sick and dying animals) you can't do it. I tried shutting down a breeder in the past and bottom line was told that as long as they were providing FOOD, WATER, and SHELTER they weren't doing any thing legally wrong. This person had about 10 different breeds, kept in small cramped runs, dogs were filthy and hair badly matted, some were under fed. I am sure they were infested with worms and who knows what else. The local SPCA wouldn't get involed because they didn't have the man power to check out complaints. Animal control could only fine them for not having proof of rabies on some of their dogs.

Sad but true, she will continue to attract first time buyers because of their ignorance of the breed and their willingness to be impressed by make believe titles of the parents. The really sad thing is that she is not the only one doing this, she just got caught in the act.

Michele, What was the cause of death of your puppy ? It seems that you and Kelly has wasted a lot of pages saying the same things over and over. Who are you trying to convince ?

It seems that there are two groups on Malone's forum, the mindless happy and the ones that have bashed Malone when they were on other forums, the mindless unhappy.

The one group just wants to tell each other how cute, sweet and lovely their puppies, excuse me, their BABBIES are.

It's hard to figure what the other group is all about. Rhoda has now joined Malone's forum, have they kissed and made up ? Eichenluft has bashed Rhoda in the past but she is now a member of Malone's group, is she chasing Rhoda ?

Am I missing something here ?  If there has been one educational post on that forum since it's inseption it must have went over my head.

I did a Google search for Alt Ostland yesterday to see what would come up. The sad, scary truth is that 2 pages of links to dogs for sale, etc. came up. I didn't go through the pages long enough to find the negative stuff, and unfortunately, naiive puppy buyers won't either. This woman has advertised everywhere and anywhere, and it's going to take a lot more negative press to slow her down. If someone isn't looking for the negative, they're not going to find it.

As far as the other women go, I'd put them in the mindless unhappy and BITTER...w/the exception of Molly Graf who I will refrain from judging b/c I know nothing about her. They have all backstabbed eachother numerous times, and then they make up to gang up on someone else...they ALL have controversy of their own regarding their breeding programs, if you want to call them that. Even Queen of the Furbabies herself has buyers who would like to see her out of business...but all of them make sure that the unhappy buyers are kept quiet, and so they invite the mindless happy cronies to follow them around praising their "precious babies" (gag).  I have 2 great stories involving 2 of the ladies in question and just how much they care about their dogs/dogs they have sold. Hey, as long as they've cashed the check, who cares if half the pups in the litter need to be put down??? And why actually do something to get your neglected dog back when you can just cry about it publicly and gain sympathy without having to spend a dime?

Steve, I don't follow anyone especially people like Rhoda who breed for the money and don't care what happens to their dogs when they "retire" and "clean house" and sell them - intact and/or pregnant - to the highest bidder, without a care of where or with whom they end up, or their future after they are no longer able to produce.  I can't comprehend how someone who posts all over the internet as loving their dogs, sharing pictures, bragging about thier puppies - would then "retire" and just sell them (and yep she's done this several times over the years, not just once), not knowing (or caring) that they ended up with the same person who aquired dogs from Judy and others, and starved/neglected/resold them.  That's a great breeder and person for ya, right?  Which is why I agreed to the statement above about Rhoda Hall.

Well Scout, hopefully the links on the Altostland-Judy Malone thread will provide more information for the new puppy buyer.

It also looks like it's raising some hackles.

I think that's spelled 'inception' just for educational purposes.
