dogabaris,

Thank you for the post. Not all believe all muslims are bad.  The terrorist groups are bad no matter what country or religion. Many of us here only have experience with our 9-11 where you have been living with it for centuries.  Don't judge all of us as some tried to judge all muslims.

Dogabaris, it seems the concern here is whether or not the dog pictured at the start of this thread is representative of the way most in  your country care for their dogs. Does this dog represent to you and other dog owners/breeders you know an acceptable way to handle a large breed dog? Would you and your dog friends give or sell a dog to a person who houses their dog in such a way (assuming this is the way he lives 24/7)?

If you would be so kind as to answer those questions I think it will put to bed much of the concern over what some of us, myself included, see as a less than ideal way to house a dog.  As you probably know without my telling you, in the US some treat their dogs like family members, do not tie them out of short chains with no shade while other dogs are handled the same or worse than the dog in this photo. We are a county of extremes, some even go so far as to dress up their dogs in clothng and push them around in wheel carriages like children while others think they are only dogs, don't need the companionship of humans so can survive quite well on a chain at the end of the yard.

Thanks for the information about Turkey. We are not always well educated on the cultures of other countries.

"others think they are only dogs, don't need the companionship of humans so can survive quite well on a chin at the end of the yard."

First of all, they are "only dogs".  Nothing more, nothing less.  If you can find me a dog that is not a dog, please let me know.  Yes, I have seen the man turns to dog movies.  I see my dogs as "only dogs", but I do give them "companionship".  I guess that is why "dog" training and reading dogs comes easier to me than many on this board.  I don't treat them like humans because they are not human.  Humans always think that letting the dog sleep in their bed will bond them closely.  I hate to say it, but you can bond quicker with a dog in a half hour with a ball than you can letting him sleep in your bed for a year.

Second of all,  there are plenty of dogs that need to be rescued here in the state.  Why are we so worried about this dog?  I don't see shit all over.  I see a water bucket and at least he has some type of shelter.  Watch Animal Planet's Animal Precinct and this dog will look like a king.

I don't advocate the use of tie-outs, but some of you need to get of your high horse!

Don, it's my opinion and I'm entitled to it the same as you are to yours.

Do Right- The DR I addresses that to was Desert Ranger. If it had been aimed at you I would have addressed it DRFNO I have NEVER seen you be hateful to anyone on this board. As a matter of fact, the way you handled the discourse on the Max threads made me sit back and really evaluate MY prejudice angaint LE (see I didn't even say cops).

No, my response was directed at DR and directed at the hateful attacks on Americans in general and women (stupid bitch, bimbo; etc). All that infection spewing out because he can't force others to conform to his ideas.

And the only reason I brought up the disability was because he puked all that up all that disdain in the name of patriotism.  I did not do it so I could tie anyone's hands. I know who I am and what I am and no one can threaten that knowledge. I would be livid if some one didn't argue with me on account of that. I just get tired of people acting like they are the only true Americans.

I am not a liberal. I am not a conservative. I try to be a reasonable person. As such I have made your same point about abortion. I abhorr inconsistancy. If the courts say it's tissue instead of a helpless child, let them be consistant with it. But, they can't be consistant with it because it so obviously IS a child. Also, if the anti-abortion people put the majority of their efforts into reshaping the public's impression and acceptance of adoption there would a lot less strife and murdered babies. And a lot less heartbroken couples who can't conceive.

Don, again you said it all. They are just dogs. I'm not wrong for housing my dogs outside, any more than someone who sleeps with 5. I'm a clean person and I like my sleep . My dogs see me every day, get out of their kennels, are well fed and have a good view of things going on, to keep them from being bored while they are kenneled. You don't have to let your dogs run the roost for them to love and respect you. I guarantee my dogs will listen faster than Paris Hilton's.

AllAboutTheDawgs:  I apologize to the utmost then.  Your posting came after my posting and DesertRangers posting was way up on the list.  You started your post with DR, and many here have addressed me in that manner, standing for Do Right.

It was a mistake and a misunderstanding on my part, in thinking that you were addressing me.  Re-reading it now (actually I read it four or five times last night), it does make more sense being a response to DesertRanger than it did to my posting, although I just had a tit-for-tat (pun intended) with sueincc (who I actually like, sort of), and your posting kinda fit as a response to mine.  Sort of.

Anyway, I was in a bad mood from GetARealDog's posting, and as I stated, I was on a rant.

Again, I thank you for your service to our country and I apologize for the misunderstanding and for my use of four letter words (I never do that first, but will send them back when someone directs them at me), and I can not believe I wasted all of that time and energy answering an attack that was not even addressed at me.

I need a few days off from here.

P.S.   My wife came in and was reading over my shoulder and she asked if I wrote anything about her on here and I told her that I just wrote that she was Black Foot Indian and Irish....If she would have had a knife in her hand, I would have been scalped.  She "reminded" me that she is Cherokee and Irish, and that my grandmother on my mothers side was Black Foot.  Now I am in the dog house.

But I have a plan.  Several months ago, my wife had put a diamond bracelet on lay-a-way and had it about half paid off, but then she found a digital camera that she just had to have, and so she cancelled the lay-a-way on the bracelet and got her money back and bought the camera.  I snuck behind her and bought the bracelet the next day and I have it hidden in our home safe.  I am going to give it to her tonight.

Moving back up to the Big House tonight boys and girls
