Firstly, the allocation of C.C’s for 2012 is nearly three years away. This means that provided we keep talking to the KC we have time to negotiate what we want. Our leaders should devise a plan to keep this process alive. We cannot afford to suspend meetings with the KC but we can ensure that when they take place we have something worthwhile to say. Also, remember that our leaders were voted into office. If they do not come up to scratch then they can be voted out. A meaningful ending can only be achieved by negotiation and not by bluster and abuse.
Secondly, some sets of C.C.’s will be lost so let us face that now. With falling entries that will in some way be a good thing. It will reduce the number of unworthy dogs getting a title just because the competition was not available.
Thirdly, it could be suggested to the KC that Clubs eligible for Championship Shows remain but the determination as to whether the C.C’s would be on offer would depend on the number of entries and the announcement made once entries have closed. If entries are insufficient the show would revert to an Open Show. The show future would then be in the hands of the exhibitor.
As this thread is about the show side only these comments should be seen as a basis for discussion on this point alone. We all know that the breed has many other serious matters to deal with and negotiate with the KC but not on this thread. Let us keep to the point and see where it takes this discussion.

We need to stay calm and focused, and explore all of the opportunities presented to us by the Kennel Clubs threat.
By any realistic assessment we have until the end of 2010 to establish a provisional "programme" of "GSD EVENTS" for 2012, and if necessary an alternative "registration" system.
Make no mistake in this age of computers and instant communication, we can convince the public very quickly and very effectively, that a GSD Breed Two Tier Registration System, with the first Tier based on the "Accredited GSD Scheme" which is far superior than the KENNEL CLUB "Accredited Breeders Scheme".
We can also implement Championship Certificates for our provisional GSD Events, and agree on how many would make up a CHAMPION.
There are numerous organisations that would "tailor make" a registration system for GSD, and I an damn sure the cost would be less than £12 per puppy.
If the Kennel Club wish to genuinely work with the GSD breed for a much better future, they need to allow double handling at all of our GSD Breed Shows, and restrict it at ALL BREEDS Shows. The Kennel Club will also need to DROP the name ALSATIAN, and co-operate with our GSD breed by implementing a Two Tier registration system based on the "Accredited GSD Scheme", with our 're-vitalised' Breed Council playing a pivotal role.
The future looks bright, all we have to do is "go for it".

The rotation of CC's to 2012 has been viewed /downloaded almost 200 times.
Many visitors from several GSD and Alsatian forums have visited my website during this time. Obviously this topic is being widely discussed throughout our breed. I have no doubt this is exactly what the KC wanted.
I am pleased to be of service in this matter.

If you believe that you really are away with the fairies!!
Most people who buy puppies are pet owners, pet owners want KC registered puppies, if you really think you can do a better job then put your money where your mouth is and do it now(what are you waiting for)
And as for this statement below
If the Kennel Club wish to genuinely work with the GSD breed for a much better future, they need to allow double handling at all of our GSD Breed Shows, and restrict it at ALL BREEDS Shows. The Kennel Club will also need to DROP the name ALSATIAN, and co-operate with our GSD breed by implementing a Two Tier registration system based on the "Accredited GSD Scheme", with our 're-vitalised' Breed Council playing a pivotal role.
It's never gonna happen, it's the double handling thats caused all this so they are not gonna be railroaded by the small minority that you are

SO I can't see why it should be such an impossibility for the K.C. to change things for the better , it could easily be done without the K.C. losing any of their precious income like this for instance >
- ALL BREEDERS TO HAVE THE CHOICE OF WHICH REGISTRATION CLASS THEY USE. ( effective immediately ).
- THE CURRENT REGISTRATION BEING- CLASS.2. ( for which the K.C. could charge more for if they so desired to encourage breeders to use the higher class reg ).
- TO BE ELIGEABLE TO REGISTER PROGENY IN CLASS 1. THE PARENTS MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA.
- HIP AND ELBOW GRADED ( maximum acceptable scores to be determined ) FROM EITHER U.K. BVA OR FOREIGN CERTIFICATION.
- HAEMOPHILIA BLOOD TESTS FOR MALES.
The non K.C. organisations e.g. the GSD patnership or Breed Council to have their own even higher rules etc which would include the above criteria plus breed surveyed dogs/bitches and any other stipulations they may require , to be brought in over a period of time to be agreed on. The K.C. could even put a gold star or similar on the registrations of litters whose parents have also passed the GSD breed organisations requirements.
Surely this would be a more simple way of getting things headed in the right direction for The German Shepherd Dog breed without too many complications to start with .
The price of puppies sold would obviously reflect on which registration was issued. The public would soon become aware and understand the difference between the Class 1 and 2 registrations !. ( as we had before but for different reasons )
EITHER WAY THE BREEDERS STILL HAVE THEIR CHOICE AND ARE NOT DIRECTLY FORCED.
THIS WOULD SOON SHOW WHICH BREEDERS REALLY CARE ABOUT THE GERMAN SHEPHERD DOG BREED !.

VIDEX. I am not knocking your scheme , I am merely suggesting an easy way that the Kennel Club could help the breed immediately without too much complication or disruption.
