Don Corleone

Hans, you forgot the $3.99 for tissues. Quit crying. You sell many more pups than green or trained dogs, and the green and trained dogs you sell are pretty much just put up on your site. To complain about sleeves and such is funny! You should have sleeves and such to train your own dogs, unless you're not into that. Most of the people on here make a living to be able to buy and work their dogs. I know I do. To listen to someone that makes his living at selling dogs bitch about having to buy sleeve covers or pay a helper makes me laugh! I do it because I love to do it. You do it to make a profit. Just a question, but how many dogs have you personally titled, Hans?

slamdunk,i know i am a small fry in an ocean of big boys but i say on this site that as good as dogs as there is in the world are breed here in the good ole usa.a few are breed in my kennel and sold as dual purpose dogs.kentucky and ohio and west va. are electing to go more to the smaller kennels.myself,i am small and it allows me interaction with the dogs.our training methods are not for sch but psd.we are very proud of our little operation and really enjoy knowing our dogs may make a differance.someone, maby you, made a comment about going to malios or ds.i have seen and know of other agencys doing the same thing.they have the same bitch,"not hard enough, not civil enough and so on".some of the other things was the gsd is for the most part to big.they want a dog that can be put over a fence, through a window.in a cubby hole etc.without busting a gut with a 90# dog.these are a  few  of the reasons departments have given to me.we totally agree and are trying to breed dogs that satisfy this criteria.give the customer what they want!!!!

it is no secret that many additional expenses are involved just to find and ship and so forth. The true value of a dog is how well he produces.
I remember years ago, the Breed Warden in Germany detailed of what is expected on expenses before that dog attained a title. Hoping to set the records straight.

Excellent comment

Most of our Dogs are bred from original imports from the Czech Republic, over the years carefully scheduled breeding is done with these lines.

You don’t necessarily have to go to Europe to find a Great Dog; you just need to find a professional breeder. Sometimes their in your town or State.

You hit the nail on the head with - to breed dogs that satisfy this criteria.give the customer what they want!!!!

That is QUALITY!

If you provide a client with a World class Schutzhund or Police Dog, when what they wanted was a Personal Protection Dog = you failed.

Quality is literally defined as “Fit for Use”, does the product meet or exceed the requirements of the client.

Don Corleone

Nobody is crying.
I guess what makes me most angry is when someone tells me that I do not love dogs and what I do is just for the money.
Don Corleone
For you to tell me that I do not love  what I do is well IDIOTIC!!!
FYI as far as me titling dogs goes  I was 2nd in PSA nationals in 2005. I have done that just to shut up toy sport people like you. That is good enough for me since  I do not care much for  sport.( Even so I do think PSA is the best sport out there.) I believe that SchH SPORT is harmful to GSD breed.  I train dogs for police, detection, S&R, families, patrol,... real work.  I do not have inferiority complex thus I do not need  to prove that I am better person then someone else because my dogie is a better dogie then your dogie.
Also most of the dogs which I train never hit the website because I train them custom and also upkeep training a additional training of imported dogs  which I provide also wears out my  equipment. So I do not "cry" and "complain" but am saying that it is a part of the cost.

 Good stuff here

I started going to Europe back in the early 90s to buy green dogs for police work. Back then I would pay around 2,000 for a dual purpose candidate  and fly them back as excess baggage for 175.00. I have been to Germany, Slovakia, Belgium,  Netherlands and they were all around the same price. Slightly less for Malinois.  Now I'm lucky to be able to land a good dog here in the States for  5,000.  Titled dogs landed are costing around 7,000. Again it's all depending on the quality you are looking for. There are much higher priced dogs out there for sure as we all know.

Yea, inflation, supply and demand and the cost of shipping (900.00 to NY ) has driven the prices much higher.
I don't mind paying for a good dog, it's when one gets here and you find out it's not what you asked for and the people in Europe give you shit is what pisses me off.
