There are quite a few people with one, two or three dogs that are / will be training their own... I'm one of them... never say die! The biggest problem is finding Clubs with room and time for newbies!
Abnor... glad you liked my take on your name!
CRUFTS... is their big showcase and one has to qualify to enter,,, at a KC show. Trust me Abnor... they CARE, the KC do not want breeds opting out. Anyway... it's not important really, in the grand scheme of things!
I'll leave you to your interested followers and wish you both well.

No I don't know you personally, but you seem to be one of the politer and reasonable people on here, and that is very refreshing.
MissB - yes the play on the name was so original
Sad to say that actually I think you'll find that bottom line it really isn't important to them, Crufts or not. I doubt that most people (viewing public especially) would even miss the GSD, since it so rarely appears in the final line up these days. But hey, we'll have to wait and see what the future holds, that's what makes life SO interesting isn't it.

I was interpreting the attitude the KC have taken towards the GSD, not what I think LOL.

Two things.
Firstly,
Shonnag, although Jim h (Jaymesie51) was well meaning, please don't try calling yourself BGSDTC as that title belongs to the St Helens based club called the British GSD Training Club and although they haven't signed the KC undertaking they are still a KC registered club. However, how about GSDTCOB that way all you need do is either unpick the embroidered letter A and add GSD or embroider D over the A (just a thought).
Secondly,
At the moment we only need to use the KC as our registration body we do not need to use them for our Pedigree;s, these can be produced by our own registration body (as currently issued by the GSD Breed Council) for animals that have passed a Breed Council Survey and the progeny (i.e litters) from parents who have both passed a BC Survey or German Korung.
Many SV German Pedigree Shepherds are registered with the German Kennel Club called a VDH , imports have to get a VDH registration before our own KC will recognize them. This means ANY QUALIFICATION this import gained under the SV system , be it even the ultimate VA Sieger title / award is not recognised by the German KC on its VDH or consequently by our own KC but this has NEVER, EVER eliminated the VALUE that WE the CUSTODIANS OF OUR BREED credit that import with or for that matter neither has it undervalued the animal in the eyes of the general public i.e. the Pet puppy purchaser.
In all the years of breeding I have NEVER , ONCE lost a sale because the female I was breeding from or the sire I had used was not a Champion !!!!!! For the most part you tend to hear Mr Joe Public say the opposite when he phones, i.e. I don't want a show dog just a pet !!!
Abby Normal, whoever you are is irrelevant to me and believe me I really do not mean to be offensive when I say this but those who set more store by owning / breeding a KC Champion than owning / breeding a Healthy GSD with a strong Calm Temperament , Courageous, Trustworthy Character and with an aptitude and willingness to work and proof that it can do it, then those are the people with a problem and the people this breed can well do without and most certainly the breeders Mr Joe Public will soon identify and learn to keep away from.
Abby, above somewhere you told Videx to credit the people with some intelligence, I now turn that back onto you. If you think Joe Public can be fooled into believing the title of KC Champion produces the best pets, then YOU are the one underestimating folks intelligence and with the greatest respect its YOU who REALLY NEEDS to 'GET REAL' . !!
