) her tarradiddle about GSD people feeling "threatened."
Your responses to Maggie about how the pdb was set up and how it's worked for years are spot on, but she totally doesn't understand and says that people are responding to Tina because they feel threatened by the Shilohs, which of course is ridiculous (she just has to post something in order to be talking) and is actually the opposite of what Tina herself actually said, which was that contrary to getting up in arms and being threatened, there was no reaction from the GSD people at all.

There was no reaction to the OP's original issue - the reaction of "stop other people besides me from breeding Shilohs" just didn't happen. That's what I meant.

Why are all the Janice Bartmess threads gone? Only one person here wanted them all deleted so I would venture a guess cause Maggie Man was called out she pressed abuse until Oli deleted it. All gone just like the animal abuse threads.

Hi Prager,
To answer your question, Tina does not call her dogs GSDs, she calls them Shilohs. At one point, Malamutes were introduced into her lines. She even has a separate registry for them. I have always said I appreciate the fact that she has taken steps to develop a separate breed rather than just breeding "rare" GSDs like so many do. Although Shilohs are not for me, because I am not interested in coated, extra large, low drive dogs, I can certainly understand and appreciate that there is a market for the Shiloh and that the breed has developed a loyal following. I'm sure they make fine pets for someone looking for a very large and striking looking animal who is very laid back.
The problem I and many others have with Tina, the bone of contention, is the way she advertises this breed, her sales pitch. She makes what seems to us, a number of outlandish claims on her website, including that her dogs are true to the original GSDs. That modern working and show line GSDs are not representative of what the founder had in mind. To all of us who who have GSDs this is a big load of crap. The Shiloh is not a working dog, either in temperament or structure. The GSD has ALWAYS been a medium sized higher drive dog.
I will also say this: I know Tina is never going to change her website. I also know that we all have our own reality based on our experiences and personal perceptions. One hundred people can witness the same event, yet many will describe that event so differently you would think they were talking about seperate incidents. It might also be true that in the region where Tina spent her childhood, the GSDs might have been more like Shilohs. It might be just be a matter of perception, memory and personal reality, not lies.
Now maggs has accused me of changing my post from last night and kowtowing to the majority on this board. This is also a load of crap. I changed the wording because my post was not clear, my grammar was off,and worse yet, my words were muddled. I DID NOT change the meaning of my original post. Anyone who has read my stance on this subject in the past can attest to this. Anyone is free to do a search on the message board, enter "shiloh shepherds", change the number to 100 and you will see I am telling the truth. As a matter of fact, a couple of months ago I told Sunsilver my feelings on this subject and they reflected exactly what I said in this post as well as all my posts on this subject.

There it is--a nasty remark regarding someone's personal business, used as a nasty little bully-club by an overage junior-high mean girl. SSDD That was uncalled for, unwarranted, rude and the type of churlish snipe we have come to expect from that source. What a loser!
