SAR dogs can do bitework. A lot of SAR Dogs I know have a foundation in bitework and are also titled IPO dogs. There are some extreme teams that don't allow it. But in the Federation it's never been a problem.
@Mithuana: that is not the type of dog I need and want. It's okay if they are out there, and there are people that like these type of dogs but I need a different type of dog. I need a balanced dog that can be a Service Dog, that can be a SAR dog, that can be a Sport Dog and that can be a Police Dog... or do PSA whatever you want. I have NEVER even dared to dream that we would have actual Seizure Alert Dogs in the C litter. What I bred for was that extreme intelligence and hunt drive. I knew we'd have Service Dog Material in there but Seizure Alert is something you can't train for. That is in the dogs and absolutely coming through the mother.
I might use a dog like that for breeding but I'm not willing to sacrifice the totality of what I've got. When we had intruders in the house to actually steal the dogs (yes, this really happened because we do have dog thiefs in the area and a lot of dogs have been stolen), they chased them out (i was in the bathroom when it happened). When someone came through our garage into the yard, they held that person. You can have solid dogs that can be approached yet will still defend their territory without trying to maul the mailman on a daily basis...

I guess you know Brad Allen from Valkyrie?
He bring s a lot of Slovak dogs, and also work some Bismack dogs. And he is into Czech dogs too.

Anyhow, there is so much more to the German Shepherd Dog than what ya'll are talking about.

That's how I start out. I want to see how long the dog searches for a ball. Doesn't matter if they find it, what matters is that they independently search without giving up. Than I want to see if they'd go on rubble without fear and hesitation for a ball. Everything else I can see in every day life.
I've also had a crazy one like this, that would kill herself over coming back to indicate so she can get faster back to the helper for the reward. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-96QJ6-TAbA

Nice attempt at dramatising pretty much nothing.

I get why no one is willing to share anything about their dogs. Because people like you shred everything to pieces. A few meters away... right... because a 40 acres search, with three subjects at barely a year old is a few meters away. I take our mentor guidance, who helped write the fema standard over your expert opinion.
You can clearly see him range out and away out of sight within seconds, you can also see that he's a refind dog, meaning, he has to range between helper and handler at all times. And what the hell else are search dogs being trained with if it isn't hunting for a ball or tug?. Only after intense training, the search itself becomes the reward. I know what I've got and I can say with confidence that I've got good dogs. How about you show yours, or are you to worried that someone could say something bad?

I don't have that many dogs coming and going that I barely know their names.
Why would any comments you make be considered bad by me even when you do get hysterical.
You can't exist in my world, that little bell in your dogs is total cringe and proves the extent of the dopiness of the world you inhabit.

Sure, go ahead, keep insulting my dogs. I know what I've got. I don't need your or anyone elses approval from this page. You see, that's the difference between trying to sell something and showing what you've got. If I tried to sell something, I sure as hell wouldn't try to do it through this page.
