That person,WOULDN'T HAPPEN TO BE SOME ONE BY THE NAME OF CARLIN BY ANY CHANCE?

gouda

P.S.  You can have the floor now Carlin,

Carlin

by Carlin on 13 December 2013 - 17:12

Gouda, it doesn't matter who. You'd argue with a stop sign and walking away thinking you were right.

Slamdunc

by Slamdunc on 13 December 2013 - 17:12

Gouda,
I'm just embarrassed for you, that is all.  I don't think I have to be a theologian or a scholar to understand what Jesus would appreciate.  You are neither also, but with all of your effort and posting you still do not grasp the meaning of Christmas.  This fact is very apparent.  You also continually fail to grasp what Jesus would appreciate from you.

i have an idea, go ask your wife to read your retort to GSDtravels and see what she thinks?   I think she would be embarrassed as well.

Gouda,
Have a very nice Holiday season.    I wish the best for you and that some day you learn the true meaning of Christmas.  You will not find it at Sears or Walmart though, you will need to look elsewhere.

Happy Holidays, and don't pay too much for your holiday tree.

Yes Gouda, that person would be Carlin, as well as every other human being in existence.  We all know something somebody else doesn't and there's no way to explain it all, we haven't yet developed the proper language.  Do you know why that is?  It's because we're still evolving, though there are those who'd rather drive us to extinction.  Ahem.

The place where we all know something that nobody else does is where the conversation stops for good reason.  That's the realm of opinion and like they say, they're like assh--es' we all have one and they all stink.  Let's keep ourselves on the level of humanity with all of our kind, it's a much more polite and respectful way to live.

Travels that video has absolutely nothing to do with me or the way I think.
You can do what you want, when you want to do it.You can celebrate any holiday
when you want,it does not matter to me. But don't tell me that I cant wish a Merry Christmas
to people that I meet, like some of the stores are doing today to their tellers.
Tell me TRAVELS,why do you suppose the stores are doing this. They have no problems with wishing a happy Haloween.
I also noticed that the author of the video, had to use foul language in his presentation.
Why do you suppose he did that.

The government is not telling the stores that they cannot wish people "Merry Christmas", that would be the stores.  I guess people complained because everybody does not celebrate that particular holiday.  I've known Jews to get offended, but I've never met an atheist who has.  They probably used their money to sway them, because that's really what makes the world go 'round.  They don't like your sentiments, they won't frequent your business.  Do those same stores throw you out if you wish the teller "Merry Christmas"?  I bet not and I'd also bet that the checker says "Thanks, same to you!".

What I don't understand is this... why would you be insulted if the general public doesn't share your sentiment?  Does that remove the entire meaning of your holiday, no matter how you celebrate?  Those symbols listed in the video show the lengths religion has gone to pull the masses into their holiday by absconding with their own traditions.  Then you cry foul when those people celebrate it, but not in the same way as you?  Is that it?  And if you truly don't use one of those listed items, why would you be upset if somebody calls their tree a "holiday tree", instead of a Christmas tree?  Why do you care what someone else calls it, as long as it means what it means to you?  When you want to secularized your own holidays, don't cry when they aren't given the same significance that you assign to them.

Who or what is removing your Christmas, Gouda?  What is preventing you from you holy day?  Did the government close down your church, make you remove all of the decorations from your yard, take the manger out of your yard so it doesn't offend someone, deny travel to your family so you can't be together?  If any of those things were true, I'd agree that you're being persecuted.  Anything else is begging for special exception and consideration, something that is squarely unconstitutional.

Lastly,if you don't use any of the secular symbols, what are you bitching about?

I also noticed that the author of the video, had to use foul language in his presentation.
Why do you suppose he did that.

To get his point across.  Does that shock you Gouda?  Why?  Oh, because his curse had to do with a reference to a sexual act, that thing that terrifies you, unless performed in a special ceremony.
Sticks and stones will break my bones, but swear words will never harm me.
