You smoke? Yuck, nasty. You will be another who dies getting their tube suctioned in the end. I know because I have watched plenty die from smoking, carry on you brave soul.

Little little man.

I might be a little man but at least I can breathe. Have another smoke and soon it might be a tube. Suction please.

Gsdadmin, now I see that you also have a reading deficit....I'm not comparing what happened then, to what is happening now. I am, however, suggesting that there are many people who are oblivious to what politicians' goals are, and that those oblivious people will likely be so blind, that if/when this country disintegrates, they will be numb to the reality. All because they blindly, without question, believe everything they are spoon fed by their chosen politicians. ( and, no, I'm not talking about the potus).

gsdadmin: Btw, does your suggesting I "go back to the hills" mean you don't like people who live in the hills, or that somehow being in the hills bans one from society? What makes you think I came from the hills, that I should 'go back'? I actually grew up on an island, with nary a hill. But lots and lots of ocean.
Do you realize how it sounds when you continually accuse all living US citizens of murdering your relatives?

Felloffer is far from a respected source, as far as I am concerned. It seems you and others would like to think anyone who has depths of emotions are incapable of rational thought, as well. That is another absurdity.
Yes, law enforcement use these registries as tools to find criminals and suspect criminals. It is what CT Law Enforcers explained. I was listening to a discussion on the radio actually, so I can't give you a link.
Bee,
I don't need to be a respectable source to point out that your argument is flawed. It is not absurd to look at the all the information available in order to make rational decision. You are basing your support of proposed legislation entirely on emotion while disregarding the facts. Gun Registries are not a valuable tool that help LE track criminals that use firearms in the commission of a crime. Because, in most cases the firearm is stolen (not registered to the criminal) or smuggled in illegally (never registered) and criminals simply don't leave a gun at the scene of the crime for LE to trace. Canada's long gun registry was scrapped because it didn't serve the purpose of lowering gun crime and it proved to be expensive and very difficult system to maintain accurately. Our registry allowed our government and the RCMP who managed it to arbitrarily confiscate legally owned firearms from law abiding owners without compensation (Yes this happened). Imagine receiving a letter from the RCMP stating you have 30 days to turn in your legally owned firearm or you will face criminal charges. Gun registries punish law abiding gun owners, not criminals.
This debate isn't about a lack of empathy towards others, no one wants to see these mass murders carried out. However, most logical people want to see laws that will combat criminals acts, not make criminals out of law abiding citizens.

GSD you may be surprised that I am on your side on the rights for just about all you mentioned. It is amazing that you would be against Liberty and constitution which affords you these liberties and founding fathers which created it, that is since you are concerned about liberty for those groups. The gays and Indians and blacks, and women can thank to founding fathers that these groups did get do get and will get their rights. The US constitution enabled and will enable the freedoms for all those groups you are mentioning that is if it will not get destroyed ,...and now you do not care if it gets destroyed. This country did not invent slavery, at those days slavery was a standard in the world, but USA got rid of it before many others, this country did not invent oppression of women, but got rid of it, and on and on all thanks to the bill of rights and declaration of independence which was put together by the founding fathers. If we would not have constitution created by these men, this would not be possible. Internment camps for Japanese US citizens during WW2 were wrong, but constitution, made possible to make it right as much as it could be. I have never said that this country was and is perfect or will be perfect, but it the best there is and ever was. Thanks to the founding fathers which you to my amazement you despise.

Felloffher. Nice post. Polite, concise, logical, compassionate and true. Now I expect you will be called racist.

Mountain lion,
you try so hard to say so little.
I find it refreashing in a strange way.
One more time if you please.
