Moons, I have to admit that the LAST things I've ever had aspirations to become is a housewife OR a mother...but I do appreciate the value of those who did/do aspire to those endeavors. I also have to admit that I was one of the few lucky kids in our neighborhood who DID have a mom who didn't work outside the home...and that it was HUGE to know that when my brothers and I walked in the door at 3:30 PM after school let out, when one of us hollered, "Ma?", the person who actually WAS our mother was ALWAYS there to answer us.
That said, I don't think it matters all that much whether it's a stay-at-home mom or a stay-at-home dad...and I don't think it matters if both parents share the childcare 50/50. Or if it's Grandmom or Aunt Ida who meets the kids at home after school. It just needs to be someone the child views as a immediate family member.

Thanks ,Hexe, but I didn't choke. Had a bite of food lodged in my esophagus and couldn't get it into my stomach...drinking water didn't go down. After about an hour, I had a friend take me to the ER. I was close to collapse, but managed to walk in. My VSs were indicating shock. The surgeon on duty wanted to take me in to surgery immediately. The ER Dr wanted to try effervescent water after Iv of a drug to relax the esophagus. They argued about it, but when the surgeon walked out for a moment, the ER Dr got to work his magic. After drinking the bubbly water , I felt it reach my stomach and the Dr let me go home. So, the surgeon and ER doc were bickering about who's method is best. I liked the conservative method, myself. Still having to wash soup down with water. :-/

Joanro, you could have died while the docs debated whose method was the best. Damn!!! Should we be stocking up on soda water just in case or did you need the IV first?

LOL. They had the IV, blood drawn, exray...everything in motion including rounding up OR staff, when the ER Doc tried the med admin via IV and had me drink the alkazeltzer tasting water. The OR Doc said there wasn't time to experiment, but turns out, time was on our side. My vitals returned to normal and I got to come home to my dogs. &;-)

hexe,
I remember when families were whole, real, and both parents took responsibility for raising children.
Life wasn't perfect but it was a hell of a lot better than it is now.
That was when one spouse could support a household, and the other spouse ran it.
That's what I meant.
Simpler times, less sheeple, before money took over.
gouda,
your a puffer of something besides pot, ewww nasty.
I do at times smoke pot, sometimes not always.
So what!
Am I going to hell because I use an herb that is part of the natural world?
Maybe it's pagan magic or witchcraft to you, something evil.
Religion in my view creates sheeple and people like you use that to your own end.
Now, do you want to talk about sheeple, or go on and on about pot and how much you like me?
