oh wow....beetree i missed all the excitement of the post....that looks painful...did the dog ram him with his head to create such a big rectangular bruce?...

by beetree on 21 August 2012 - 01:08

Hi LadyFrost... long time no see! Boy says no to the head ramming, just the sneak attack! Why it is rectangular, I have no idea!! You should see the colors of the bruise today... not sure if anyone really cares, but I'll post the healing tomorrow if there are any doubting Thomas's on my care. LOL

Hey, beetree, sometimes it's just not worth firing a synapse over, you know?  Some people are born tool-bags, some people become tool-bags, but in the end, they're both one and the same: tool-bags.

beetree..yeah....it has been one interesting year, (after dream reading it all just went downhill) ....i got more grey hair in last 6 months than i already had up to this year....
but things are about to start looking up, at least on a more personal side versus professional....

There is a good chance i will be adding a male GSD to my group...my Alfa is not getting any younger and without her my two other ones will not know what to do, she is like a glue that keeps it together and under control...so tomorrow i am going to meet potential addition...if i bring him home i will post pictures... :) I haven’t been this excited in a while...

regarding a bite....show me rainbow! LOL...i always think it’s fascinating how a bruise can go green and yellow after being bloody red and blue...is the dog still with the family? has he/she bitten anyone else?...maybe he needs to live with you guys for a week or so, just so you can straighten him/her out..:)

And to paraphrase Shakespeare

A troll is a troll is a troll
or
A fool is a fool is a fool

A Gopher isn't a Rat
and you don't need to get bit to be a good protection dog trainer
or to get thrown off a horse to be a good rider.

Have a Nice Day

beetree:  "If we can avoid the Dr's. for the dog's sake so he doesn't get a police record, I'm okay with that."

What about the next kid that gets bit?  Isn't the above quote like putting the dog before kids, people; & any future victim (s) won't have prior bite history/report/record on said dog?

Who are you really protecting with this thought process?

by beetree on 21 August 2012 - 15:08

I was wondering when somebody would get to that... Yes, it is a moral dilemma of sorts. I had an in-depth conversation with my friend, which I did mention earlier on this thread, where she is not ignoring the fact that this dog attacked unprovoked,  and she said she would be dealing with the dog's issues, as she does have a trainer for her, and her dogs. Our first thoughts both were, what if this had been a small child? So, basically, I am trusting her to do the right thing, so it never happens again.

From what I know about her, and her whole families' character, I believe she will. Am I wrong? I could be, and I did recognize that fact. The other odd thing was, the conversation we were having was about two high school athlete's who had a head collision in the pool two years ago, and now one of the kid's parents are suing everybody in the school and town they can think of, for their kids concussion. She'd just received a letter from a lawyer.

And then the dog bit my son!

Duhhh....the dog obviously....LOL...

Many of us here been bitten, I have, it all depends on circumstances and situations....I wasn't there, you were not there....child has a mother and he is her responsibility, if she made a decision not to report it, who are you or anyone else to question that?....
