This is very true Blitzen. But guess what? They have shipped all the manufacturing to China, where there are no regulations. So the World's air is really being polluted, by them. At the same time there are hardly any jobs here and this is wiping out the middle class.

That's sadly true but IMO not a valid reason to allow what industry is left in this country to govern themselves unregulated.

why does it have to be black and white with regards to environmental regs?
The epa is forcing many coal fired power plants shut down because they cannot cut emmisions at start up or shut down........
OK, the plant runs under the regs every day for 2 years, it has to be shut down for maintenance. For 2 years its been running under levels, but the epa will not let is start back up its over emmisions for 1 day......?
Just another silly way the epa is killing our economy.

Where did you learn that? I would like to see the stats on a power plant that has run for years below the acceptable levels that can't re-start at the same low level after being out of serivce for maintenance. Why can't they start back up at legal levels and how do they know that?
