That's not what Jesus was referring to when he spoke those words.

O Bible scholars tell me,
how many direct quotes from Jesus appear in the Bible?
And who does the quoting?

Moons - would you prefer attributed to? Gouda - there is no riddle. Since Jesus since I told you they are Jesus words, you at least know then it's a gospel. For someone throwing scripture around as casually as you do, you should at least know the gospels well enough to recognize the book anyway. I have hesitated to this point to start quote any scripture at all as I have no interest to use it for the sole purpose of an argument. You laid claim to being a child of God; the Jews retorted in this way to Jesus. They claimed to be "Abraham's seed". Jesus informed them in short order that their title meant little, and that their behavior told the story. While it is not mine to question your standing as a "child of God", I will point out that as a follower of Christ, the position you take toward the non-believers lies in stark contrast to His.

Beetree...I have been wondering why I haven't felt quite myself lately; now I know. Seriously though, I feel at a slight disadvantage not having been here long enough to pick up on why I simply must be moons.

I think he thinks you both display the uprearing in a strong evangelical, fundamentalist tradition. That in Moon's case has been rejected outright. Now, Moons, please clear up any inconsistancies in my recollection. I'm not so good with all the terms, I'm just a not very good Catholic girl.

Actually, funny you should say, I was raised Catholic, and attended Catholic school from k-11; I'll never forget those nuns.
