And for those of you who think non-profit=no expenses, I suggest you check out guidestar.org. All non-profit's tax returns (Form 990) are public record, and can be found on this website.

One increase in 15 years, what's all the bitching about?   If you can't afford another 40 dollars get out of dogsport or get a second job.

"You didn't, but you did say that belonging to any AWDF club would afford the same opportunities..."

I think you've confused me with another poster.

"So the only issue with USA for me is the JA, and that's just not a big enough deal to make me quit."

Because it doesn't really affect you, now does it?

Yep that is the mentality that is prevelant every where alse also! If you can not afford a dues increase of 65% Get out of dog sport! A very comforting thought indeed!   the big giveaway is the astronomical increase right after  the  exclusion from participating in other dog organizations! That is the actual mentality of the eliteist ! We will price you stupid ones right out of the market!  And then we will not have to worry about you voting us out of office! And we will continue to dictate to the rest of the stupid ones what and when and how to do it!  We ( our club ) has decided to  wait and see what happens between now and the next time  dues are due to usca! If there has been no improvement we will  go to dvg!  Since usca does not want us to play with anyone else we will just stop playing with usca! Because it will allow us to play with our other friends and leave usca looking through the fence!LOL

Phil,

So what you two are saying is, it doesn't matter what happens to the sport, or the dogs, it's all about what is best for you. As long as you can do what YOU want, that makes it correct. We're kind of selfish aren't we?

I do care what happens to the sport and my dog, I don't think that by me choosing to stay with USA that my dog will suffer, nor the sport.  It is called freedom!!!!

Ray:

he increase has been coming for the last several years just the amount was in question. It has nothing to do with the JA.

There is never a good time to have a increase but it does come at some point.

Raymond,

If you can't afford to be member of one organization, how in the hell could you afford to be a member of two organizations?

(gsdshow)                           Usca has taken your choice away! You can not belong to any other dog organization that (competes) with usca! That competes with leave usca open to freely dictate to you whom you can or can not associate with! And you call that freedom? And additionally   we are told if we can not afford  a 65% rate increase as ell as future ones then get out of dog sport! Or get a second job! What a crock ! Over 20% of americans do not even have a first job!

I can still train my dog the same way I trained before.  I choose to stay with USA, they have not forced me to do anything, and if I want to leave in the future, then I will be able to make that choice too.  That sounds like freedom to me.
