Wow you guys are so knowledgeable about genetics I just learned to much on this one post. thank you. i talked to the breeder and she said that the tan on the puppy should be a deeper tan when he is an adult. he is now 4 weeks old and we are looking forward to our new family member. I always had the black and tan saddle backs,so owning a sable dog was all new to me and my husband. Well no matter what color he turns out, he will be ours to love. here is one last photo of him and his sister at 4 weeks old. I will be on this forum everyday to read and learn more. You guys are better then what books write about German Shepherds. once again thank you for sharing all your knowledge

bout mid way down is a nice matrix
maybe this will help you to determine what color your puppy will be.

He will be very dark - possible "black" sable. He will be red in pigment - very nice pigment, better than the siblings or either parent.

Sitasmom, Since your little finger must be aching pressing that abuse button to have 1 of my 3 non abusive posts removed I will ask again. In the post you made 29/03/10 You said " I'm thinking that the colouring will be like its dam but the markings will be like the sire" I was wondering how you came up with this analysis? Since most here including the OP new the puppy was SABLE ( you said it COULD be ), and that one of the parents must be incorrect, you still made your absurd claim above!!! Thankfully the OP corrected his mistake, but you......well just keep prattling on. I know you had problems with deciding if one of your own puppies that you " reared " was B/T or B/G, so this combination understandably might give you problems. But I would love to hear how you came up with this statement above....just curious. By the way I think I and many many others here have established YOU are something else....just can't decide what yet!!!!

thank you Molly. The breeder was also calling him a black sable. Molly i also think he will be red in coloring.Ii will update his pictures as he grows. I know that the tan on him really looks like its going to turn red. I am getting him in my home in 4 weeks. He was the darkest one in his whole litter of 7. all are sables in coloring. I been reading your posts and you know so much about this breed. Just wondering if you have pups for sale? If you do pm me thanks ~Michele

Sitasmom, your poor little finger must be red raw reporting my comments to Olli, he must be fed up by now. Since you have saw fit to moan again and have my comment deleted for the THIRD time I will ask my question again. On the 29/03/10 at 16:03 you gave your opinion on the colour of this puppy, I am still very interested how you came up with your nonsensical analysis? I know you are a novice and have trouble deciding the colour of your own puppies, not sure if one was B/T or B/G. But instead of making crazy comments why don't you just ask someone with knowledge before putting your analysis into print, I'm at your disposal if you need any advice please feel free to pm me, I will give you the best of my knowledge and experience. Now that is not abusive I'm trying to help you gain the knowledge you so obviously lack.

bazza, are you saying that Oli won't allow you to ask SitasMom a question, and he deleted your question to her????
by bazza on 02 April 2010 - 18:04
Yes, Three times now, but I know Sitasmom has a problem with my questions as they normally expose her nonsense posts, she has warned me though if I persist she will have me barred from the board or report my " abusive " posts, so I only have myself to blame really, lol.

But how can asking that question be abusive? I read your posts and it was a totally legitimate question, especially when Oli has allowed all the OT and name-calling and foul-language posts. Amazing.
