Thanks to all that helped or still can...Kelly is a real person with a real dog that needs real help, and I know how hard it was for her to come here and ask!!  I would only hope that if this situation happened to me,  or ANY of you, that help would come through without  the negatives I read above. Anyways, have an open mind and know she is in a tight spot, one I bet everyone who has a heart dreads happening to them.

Krazy Bout K9s

Kelly,
I received a 3 month old puppy into rescue that had a broken rear leg, growth plate, Playing too hard with their St, Bernard. The people brought it to the vet and had a cast and pins put in. Unfortunately they didn't keep the dog confined and the dog rebroke the growth plate. We tried really hard to fix it, put more pins and plates but the bone is just too soft there while growing. We ended up choosing to amputate the leg. He was much happier and not in pain. I kept him for several more months just to make sure he adjusted well.
He ran and played and even swam in my pond just like all the other dogs. And he had the best temperament of any white GSD I have know.

I know it is hard to think of, but at that age, the growing spurts may cause more problems than what you may want to put him through. I wish you the best in your decision. Here is a photo of Tucker and he did get adopted out to a wonderful family that doesn't care about his one leg missing...
Thanks,Stephanie

I just want to let everyone know in case you've come in late and don't have time to read it all through.Kelly has a link on her web site to donate, she's doing it through chip in.She has only managed to get 25% of what she needs, there is still time to donate though.
Thanks for all that has been done and donated.
