As to Letterman's "slutty flight attendant look" remark, I'm convinced that attractive liberal women are so rare that when liberal men see an attractive female, they mistake them for slutty.
I mean, look what they are used to seeing:

And if he had made jokes about how slutty or manish Michelle Obama is; or about a New York resident raping and impregnating their two little girls, you would have still thought of him as a 'cutting-edge comedic genius' and we are just making a mountain out of a mole hill?

but but but I never thought he was a cutting edge comedic genius! I don't even watch the show because I just don't think he's very funny, I don't really "get" him or the one with the long face, the one that just retired from the Tonight Show. I did used to like that stupid pet trick bit, but damn, that was ages ago!
