You didn't miss much.
I always dream of a car, a woman, or winning the lotto to go to sleep.

I'm not trying to say the knowledgeable people are eletist. Just that they have better things to do with their time than get involved in petty squabbles on the board. They're too busy training and titleing their dogs!

Some of us need to take a lesson from that....

Okay, I'm still up to my neck in s**w here in the North Woods. Need to get the mukluks on, hook up the dog team and go for a spin....

(j/k about the dog team. But I do need to fire the snowblower up, and do the driveway....Maybe then I'll take the dogs for a run in the woods. Glad I didn't put the snowshoes away just yet....)

I think that a lot of knowledgeable people don’t come here because they don’t find it fun or entertaining to have some anonymous newbie cyber trainer arguing with them. It’s insulting to have some idiot, that didn’t know the tail from ears 6 months ago, telling them they don’t know what they are talking about and have a half dozen other idiots backing them up. Why bother with that BS?

Also many of the top trainers are only semi-literate.

Also many of the top trainers are only semi-literate.

Does that mean they learned to read in truck stops?

Soory coudn't resist

Seems most of this thread is about me and my posts.
Id like to clarify a few things.

Im Pro Peace, Pro Justice, Pro Constitution, and Pro Conservative. I voted Ron Paul. Im a practicing Catholic.
I make no bones about any of my views and answer and debate anytime, anywhere on these topics.
Im adamently Anti Occupation, Anti War. Anti Federal Reserve, & Anti Israel.

Mentioning that Israel violates more UN Resolutions than all nations combined and attacked our USS LIBERTY, isnt 'anti semitic' its Pro Truth. I cant change those facts.
Mentioning that most Mafia members are Sicilian and or Calabrian, isnt Anti Italian. Its Pro Truth.

The Truth isnt polite and I dont sugar coat.
Some take offense, as the Truth can be offensive.

Im not Anti AAny group of people. I am Anti Criminal. If a particular group of people is breaking laws, international laws and committing war crimes or just petty crimes, they are not above indictment and criticism.

I  am fortunate enough to have Arabs and jews in my own extended family, and nieces and nephews therein.
That allows for a broader perspective than about any others here.

Ive befriended someone, whose Jewish, on this board and correspond with regularly. Im proud to call them Friend.
The attacks on me are made because of my message. Its a discredit the messenger when you dont like the message.
I got thick skin and can handle any thing thrown my way.

I too enjoy and come here for the perspective from the dedicated Working Breeders/Trainers/Owners. Thats my real bias.
History, Religion, Politics, Constitutional Law is just as aside.

The idividual who made the original remarks only participates occationally,  I don't think they really have anymore to say than anyone else when it comes to that arguement that the great trainers and breeders don't come around anymore due to the behavior of the boards members.
I don't believe that for a second.
I agree more than likely these people don't have the time or desire to participate beyond an occational promotion of themselves , their dogs, or something else involving making that living, them or friends.
They may read it, who knows.
But there is enough good information here I don't think they are missed.
People come and go on this board for many reasons, sometimes they come back, for many reasons.

This is a vivid illustration of what I wrote about in my prior post. I train with, and have friendships with some of the top trainers in sport. They have told me very directly that they don’t post because they don’t have the time to deal with ignorant people contradicting them and then spending time defending their post. Yet TwoMoons, with not a drop of evidence to prove it, contracts me on a “belief”. Personally I find it funny and entertaining to watch people fight to retain their ignorance. But others don’t so they don’t post.

Hmm, well, there is more than one way to skin a cat, and the type you are referring to Christopher, sound horribly egotistical.

Those that have alot of  knowledge and are confident that what they do is the best way to go, don't worry about someone having a different opinion.  There are alot of different training techniques, and everyone can share their ideas without being threatened by those ignorant ones.

Red sable ...the problem you have on thse boards is that you don't really know who is who and  who is really good and who is a wannabe. The thread I referenced earlier in this posting the experienced person gave a very good description in 1 post of the hows and whys of a particular exercise.  Many people posted after who really were off a bit on their advice.

I also have had an opportunity to train with some high level people and you can really be suprised as to how accomidating these folks can be.  But the difference is when you are training with them they can show you with a dog (often your own) why or why not do do something.  You can't do that on the internet.  Many of these high level trainers will have people drive for hours and pay them for their knowledge.  So why would those people spend a great deal of time at a place where people with limited knowledge argue with them?

Are there high level trainers that are arrogant? Sure

But there are those who are amazingly down to earth people that are really commited to the breed. If you ever get the chance to train in europe many of those clubs have a simular dynamic to what some of the high level trainers have in the US  When dogs are on the field everyone is involved, everyone is focused on the dog, the handler, and the helper.  OT stuff during training is stongly discouraged. That is why many of these people get good results- they are focused.   On any internet forum there is not the same intensity as related to training  A person who is an eloquent author may appear more knowlegable than an acclomplished trainer.  Your dog does'nt know if you can't spell but yet let somebody post  something with a mispelling or two and people are bashing the persons grammer and ignoring useful content.
