Barney Frank had a "friend" in the mortgage business
Aside from campaign contributions from the crooks running Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Rep. Barney Frank had another more intimate connection - his main gay squeeze was a Fannie Mae executive. My observation .....Barney has a Fannie buddy.....not that there is anything wrong with that ;)
To stay on the threads topic unqualified home buyers were not the only ones who benefitted from
Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank’s efforts to deregulate Fannie Mae throughout
the 1990s. So did Frank’s partner, a Fannie Mae executive at the forefront
of the agency’s push to relax lending restrictions.
Now that Fannie Mae is at the epicenter of a financial meltdown that
threatens the U.S. economy, some are raising new questions about Frank's
relationship with Herb Moses, who was Fannie’s assistant director for product
initiatives. Moses worked at the government-sponsored enterprise from 1991 to
1998, while Frank was on the House Banking Committee, which had jurisdiction
over Fannie.
Both Frank and Moses assured the Wall Street Journal in 1992 that they
took pains to avoid any conflicts of interest. Critics, however, remain
skeptical.
"It’s absolutely a conflict," said Dan Gainor, vice president of the
Business & Media Institute. "He was voting on Fannie Mae at a time when he
was involved with a Fannie Mae executive. How is that not germane?
It was sure nice of the taxpayers to lubricate ole Barney's relationship with his boy toy.

rpk , why does everything you post come from right wing web sites. So No republicans have their hands in fannie? The Republican "reform" effort in 2005 was nothing more than taking money away from Fannie and Freddie...and giving it to private banks. THE SAME ONES THAT FAILED! Both parties have a hand in it, and deregulation lovers are the worst. We need to get rid of lobbyist. It's destroying our Country. Every time we deregulate an industry it goes bankrupt.
Everything you post in here can be found in right wing web sites. copy and post isnt good. It all got started on why there are spo many Anti obama people in the south. I replied and all you do is copy and post from Right wing websites

Why are 98% of blacks voting for Obama.........Racism perhaps?
Why do people in rural small town America vote FOR conservatives and NOT for liberals?

rpk, why are so many women turing to Palin? same reason maybe? Women make over 52% of the population, while Blacks make 12%. You have the winning hand., But Americans are sick of it. That is why Obama is ahead in the polls

rat, remember I didnt vote obama, too much like Bill Clinton to me, But even southern Democrats liked Clinton. I am a liberal, I dont like Obama or Clinton too centrist for me. I do admit that Clinton was good, probably the best, but i want liberal. I'll take Clinton over W. Hell I'll take Mccain over W.

You arent answering why "socialism" as you see it, is ok. If the president is white. But if he is black it isnt. Why if Obama wants the same things Bill did, did the south vote him in and not Obama, as far as we can tell from the polls. You dont answer that. You wont !
