WAYTAGO SEAN! Super trainer and outstanding helper, excellent dogs... and a hell of a good guy all 'round. I'm delighted to learn he kicked some serious butt in a regional championship event.

LISTENOW
Like Mystere suggested, no matter who you are, just say sorry. After all, on adult should be so mean to a youth.

Pat,
Obviously, this individual is just a fear-biter with a POS dog for which he grossly overpaid and with whom he probably shares the same character (or lack thereof) demonstrated here. He will never have the courage to apologize, much less actually identify himself. Although... I did receive a pm that pretty much stated that ListenNow's identify has now been proven. It's too bad, as I had a lot of respect for that individual. Oh, well, I should be accustomed to disillusionment by now.

Hello,
I am usually a wall flower when it comes to threads and responding but this is one I just could not pass up and had to respond. First of all, I think the price of this person’s dog is not important, if somebody wishes to pay 20k for a dog than that’s great and to them that dog is worth 20k. Two years ago I was thinking of paying 3k for a puppy, why? for the simple fact I wanted a puppy from this particular sire because he produced well and I knew he was on his last breeding’s. Was it allot for a puppy in my book, heck yes, would the price made it any better of a dog? nope not at all, I have been around long enough to realize prices doesn’t make or break a dog, so if this guy paid 20k for a dog than to him that must be a great dog.
Back to my main reason for replying, be careful on how quick you judge a persons ability based on age or anything else. Being in a wheelchair and competing I get judged quiet a bit, I once had a good friend state she would never be in the same club as me because of the risk of my dog hurting somebody and my lack of my ability. True there is an added risk but with good planning a well rounded dog, I believe I am as safe as anybody else. Regarding young helpers at trials, I have to totally disagree with the original post, I have a helper in my club that’s 17 and she’s a "GIRL". Emily is a relatively green helper in regards to her years of experience and training, but it would be hard to find a young person with her heart and drive for this sport and the breed. In some ways she has an advantage over a large male helper, many times she has been able to bring a young dog out that might be a little soft in the beginning stages and might have gone into avoidance if overwhelmed by a male helper. With that said is she doing helper work at a Regional level, not yet but give her a few years. Lets not forget, this sport welcomes young people of all ages so if this judge picked this young man then my hates off to him for his years of hard work because if you truly understand what it takes to be a helper that doesn’t happen over night. And to complain about the helper selection is to show dishonor to the judge, so be carful when voicing your options. Here’s a few pictures of Emily at a helper seminar and below are some links to her working my dog and her own. Now get off your butts and go train, I am the only one who has an excuse for sitting down.
