"Should I keep back my opinions at such a time, through fear of giving offense, I should consider myself guilty of treason towards my country."

BabyEagle4U, I am assuming you have had a few things to say, that is a large list.

You are aware that in most Asian countries dog is eaten as part of the regular diet, just like in France they eat horses don't they...
Most here in the good old US of A have no idea that commercial slaughter houses in the process of "processing" the meat most us eat skin the beef cattle alive as they work their way down the "line"...
For whatever its worth this dog food thing has nothing to do with Al Qaida or Bin Laden, its all about money, the thing that makes the world go round and round...
People can say whatever they want to say but opinions must be based on some level of intellectual fact/s otherwise its like they say; opinions are like a-hole, we all have em...This is not an attack on anyone here at all, just make sure what you say is real and not just words...
Simple solution, do not do business with China, or buy products made in China, change your dog food to something you know and trust and get out and vote...Find out how your local representatives voted as far as giving a country like China "favorite nation" status and let them know how you feel by not re-electing those politicians who are not sensative to your concerns...Action always speaks louder than any words we might utter...China needs to be dealt with sooner or later on some level, why wait until they reach 2 billion+, already their economy has and is affecting our economy...Not JMO but fact/s...
I would much prefer to get back to talking about the dogs (GSDs) than politics...

Darn Right 1Doggie2 ... someone has to do it. Must be the Native in me. I dunno.
I just finished a 12 page word doc regarding this East vs. West and Islamic Resistance coming to America. It's a mighty read .. I wonder if our Media's will have the "balls and brains" to comment on the truth. LOL
America isn't up for Grabs !!!! :o)~

Roborob, in this case the line between politics and the well being of our dogs (and maybe even our own healthy) is blurred. It surely is all about money. I wonder what the Bush family eats.
The big players can buy grain grown in the US, ship it to Asia for processing, bring it back here, introduce it into the food chain and legally lie to the Amercan public by stating - all of our grain is grown in the US.
I agree with your suggestions to stand up and be counted when election rolls around and boycott good imported from China. My concern is what happens in the meantime; as we know the wheels of justice turn slowly in the US and how many more dogs are going to die as a result of greed. I won't even mention the distinct possibility of us humans being poisoned as well.
Is it a conspiracy? I don't know, but I sure don't trust most of what I hear coming from the federal government. Again, I'd love to know what the Bush family eats and what they feed their animals. My best guess is doesn't contain anything processed in China.

Blitzen,
You'll get no argument from me about what you've said here, I agree with you...As far as what Bush eats, it must be crap as he is certainly full of sh*t most of the time...
In the meantime as the wheels of government and logic do turn very slowly especially when we're speaking of someones almight buck, read labels, and make sure we do not inadvertently support governments and countries that are contrarian in nature to whatever our beliefs are...As far as dog food is concerned there are real alternatives available to all of us, perhaps at a cost but I do not put a monetary value on the love and affection I have for my animals...Check out the Canidae web site as most of the premium dog food makers have issued a statement about whats going on within the industry that can be seen on their web sites...When in doubt do as i did and write them and ask very specific questions...
So far I have heard back from Canidae and Chicken Soup for the pet lovers soul as well as Solid Gold and Timberwolf Organics, all of which swear that everything they make or sell comes from the US of A...I trust people until its proven I can no longer trust them...I'm sure there are others as well...???
I personally do not think this is a conspiracy just another example of world economics gone very bad...
Boycott and become informed then go out and vote...Until then (when things change and I am not holding my breathe waiting on anything)becareful outhere,"...oh baby its a wild world outhere..."

My post was written, (partly tongue-in cheek), to point out that when dogs are dying and prompt, concerned actions by the current gov't organizations on discovering the reasons and implementing adequate safety measures are not FORTHCOMING,---theories of any kind will surface.
If anyone actually believes they will discover the real truth, my hat's off to him or her. The possibilities for contamination are tenfold. The only issue I will address myself is for *our US inspectors* to get on the ball.
Conspiracy theory---who knows? On the other hand, if my posts suddenly stop...........(LOL)

Here is one for the "Conspiracy theory"
They are correcting the Social Security System, with China's help.

Sure the more people eat melamine, the less alive to collect benefits.
