i would hate to spend my time sitting on the internet looking for any bad news at ie a down in the stock exchange, a mundane solar event etc just to feed my bias that the end is nigh.

Well thanks a bunch YR - now  I know the answer to something else that always bugged me:  Why Yellow ?    Actually I have no problem being

called a pig - they are very intelligent animals.

No one but perhaps Gouda is interested in this stuff.  And you would do well to stop allowing others to "show you things"  ,,,Pray and study and stop reading what people have shared with you into the Scripture. :))

Reggie stated that christians putting things or even posting things on a DOG FORUM are not gonna have very good results and that there are extremes in christians and extremes in those who do not believe...HE knows what I meant with the scripture which says....DO NOT CAST your pearls among swine...IN other words   like Reggie made quite clear...do not bother to kieep coming on this forum and posting over and over and over the same thing to make those who do not want to hear about Jesus,as that just makes them  mad and make them angry..THERE are better ways to spread the JOY of the GOSPEL...that is what I was replying to as GODS word means just  that....do not bother to post to those who do not want to hear it..  THAT is what the context meaNS...if THAT OFFENDS YOU , i CANNOT HELP THAT.  It is scripture.

Do not cast pearls before swine.

A very strong statement when not understood correctly.  If you have a very nice piece of antique furniture and you gave ti to someone who looked at that piece of furniture and they didn't' see it as an antique.  All they saw it as was an just an old dilapidated  chunks of wood.  Being a very cold winter they cut it up and burned it to stay warm.  Your precious gift was treated in a very bad way.  It would have been better for them to sell it and buy firewood.  But to burn it would be seen as hurtful to you and destroyed something that never could be replaced.  To dispense spiritual knowledge to people who don't desire to hear it serves no purpose for either one.  The one is wasting their time and irritating the other.  Not having the same view of spiritual things the latter one will not see any value in it.  Possibly because of their current circumstances.  This is especially so if the latter one also is just using it to make fun of or belittle the one who is trying to share what they value as a precious gift.  Neither one really gains.  And something valuable is treated as mere refuse.

OK  Reggie - I  DO get that, really I do.  But please look at this in context:

 

YR chimed into the general debate about the date(s) and such involved in the 2nd Coming, and the concept

of 'preparedness', using quotes about maidens with lamps and what-not.  So far, so good,  Jan is entirely

entitled to express her views on the thred topic ...  BUT she then puts in the third post, apropos of nothing

very much that anyone else has contributed, quoting the first half of the passage from Matthew ... with a

teeny tiny little kick at the end about the remaining half.

Now I am not taking this personaly / individually, I am reacting on behalf of all the atheists. and all those of

non-christian religious beliefs;   it is not uncommon for people like us to point up our regret at the way  some

posters tend to lump us altogether as 'sinners' in their eyes, and to insist that we, who are so wicked and dis-

honest and uncaring and thoughtless, are going to be either  'made to believe, and repent '  or to suffer

eternal torment and such, come their Day of Judgement.    I am perfectly entitled to protest at that.  I do not believe

YR did not read my post,  my question was directly addressed to her.  She usually does read my posts, evidence

has shown that, so why would she suddenly skip over that one ?  In any case the effect is the same,  neither she, 

nor anyone else, 'needs' to give me an answer, as that would be 'casting their pearls before swine.'

So who is treating WHOSE views as 'refuse' ?
