NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER use a knee to correct a dog. There, how's that for criticism. If you come on my property and knee your dog for jumping,,,,,,,you will be told to leave, not asked, TOLD. Why not?

GSDRULE,
What do you mean, "why not?"

Thanks everyone!  Esp. UberLand - and you're entirely correct about that asking 100 different people will result in 100 different responses!

So, to extinguish the jumping up on people, I decided to use pepper spray.

JUST KIDDING!  HAHAHAHAHA!!!

Beetree, do you believe that someone should be criticized for improving and honing their craft?  Should grade school dropouts chastise college students/graduates for moving on to higher education?  Does knowing how to change the oil in your car compare you to an ASE Certified Mechanic?  So I'm guessing you use a 3 lb. sledge and chisel to remove the drain plug from your oil pan?

Phil, Uh no, to all of the above, especially the oil pan thing, I plan on never, ever having to do that my entire life!  I just don't see why someone with less experience than you can not possess a functioning, reasoning brain that can sort through the difference between crap advice, so-so advice and excellent advice. I would think a professional, successful, trophy winning individual might want to STFU if he flat out refuses to say anything that would actually help the newbie find that golden path to becoming the ultimate all-knowing dog trainer in the history of dogkind.

Correct me if I got this wrong but is your answer to every newbie question, something like this?

"....I know everything and you can be damn sure I didn't learn any of it on the internet... so all you newbies save your dumbass questions, don't post to the board and hire a dog trainer... if you can find a good one. GOOD LUCK, let's hope you don't screw up the pup too much, and let's see if you still have three kids this time, next year! "

K9sRule....good info on that link.
