Genevieve Bujold played Anne Boleyn with Richard Burton in "Anne of the Thousand Days".
I have seen several actors play the role of Anne Boleyn but Bujold is, IMO, unquestionably the best in the role. One of the truly memorable scenes that Roger Ebert called one the greatest bits of acting was what is commonly referred to as "The Tower Scene".
By way of background:
Anne has been confined to the Tower and is awaiting execution. She was falsely charged with adultery and incest by Henry's courtiers as they sought to fulfill his wish to divorce her since she had not given him a son. Henry likely knows that the charges are trumped up and is willing to let her live if she will consent to an annullment of the marriage which she refuses to do.
So this Tower scene is a final attempt by Richard to change his mind. Superb acting all around ........ and especially by Bujold. Not sure how long this clip will be around because Youtube removed it from their site for copyright violation.
