Baby Eagle, what are you talking about?

by BabyEagle4U on 29 June 2012 - 02:06
I think this "tax" will be enforced.
by Blitzen on 29 June 2012 - 02:06
OK, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

by BabyEagle4U on 29 June 2012 - 02:06
Not expected to be enforced. Did you mean just paying the penalty "tax" in lieu of getting health insurance ?

by GSDNewbie on 29 June 2012 - 02:06
The governments use one small thing to get control of the larger picture. This is just the first baby step towards complete government medical care and it is naive to think otherwise. They start complete gun control with one innocent good for everyone looking law as well ;) This is movement towards a government run health care system in the works and that would be a very bad thing. I am willing to keep being responsible for my own health insurance as always for my family and asking for nothing from the government.

Do you mean like spending trillions on illegal invasions of countries killing 10s of thousands of innocent people?

by BabyEagle4U on 29 June 2012 - 03:06
German Shepherd Dog .. that's what it amounts too.

Just think, if the government took all those trillions spent on the illegal bs invasions and divided that money up equally amongst all American citizens, we wouldn't need people "subsidizing" the insurance companies for the out of work citizens. On second thought,it should be divided amongst the people who need to have their insurance paid for by the subsidizers. That would be more fair. The economy would get a proper stimulating kick start and every one could pay for their own insurance and the insurance companies would remain wealthy and healthy.

As someone who has worked in the medical field for the past 25 years, healthcare as we know it will change and I suspect not for the better. The govt now wants to cut medicare payments to physicians 27% (and has been trying to do it for the past two years or so) and tells physicians that they will make it up by seeing more patients. However this means high mal practice rates, more employees and higher overhead. Single physicians will be wiped out or be forced to join groups just to make it. Quality physicians will leave as they are doing now to find other fields where their MD title pays better.
I was reading today it's expected that premiums will increase 30% from what we pay now to cover patients who are higher risk. Companies who now pay for employee plans are looking to drop employee group health plans since we will be required to have health coverage. Some companies will pay the 2,000 penality as it is cheaper than to cover their employees.
Ive heard the trauma doc I used to work for and sees more than his share of cash pay patients who didnt pay, is worried.
I too am worried as a single parent that I will be able to afford to cover my son. Insurance companies who make millions now will be the ones to make the largest profits.
I was always in favor to cover people who didn't have coverage but this was not the way to do it. The only entity that will profit from this is the insurance companies. There are still more healthy people than sick. It's ok for Obama to pass laws like this....because we pay his insurance now and until he takes his last breath.
We think its bad now...just wait. It's about to get a whole lot worse.

Henny Penny says the sky is falling. You guys crack me up. What was said is that without this law premiums would skyrocket, I have the link to the article but I will just let the Henny Pennies of the world tell us all about it.
I do enjoy the predictions of those with crystal balls as I see it as entertainment. The sky is falling. LMAO!
"Some studies have shown that rates could have shot up even more if the law had been tossed out. Some estimates had pegged the possible increases in insurance costs from 10 percent to 30 percent."
