Unfortunately, I don't. I only have working pictures. He's nothing special, just a nice structured dog that does what he's supposed to do...lol....my kinda dog. He's a very balanced dog and moves well in harmony. Nothing extreme, not bred to gait, just nicely put together with aptitude.

Of course its OK Red Sable... hadn't been keeping track of our personal differences but obviously you have.
I have addressed your obsession with poorly stacked dogs. I SAID there were millions of examples of dogs stacked unnaturally. SO WHAT!? What does that have to do with a correct stack and the subject of a correct stack being natural?!!!
I find it very amusing that you think Gustav's example is "natural"! Not saying it is or isn't... but Explain to me just how much different that stack is from the original dog's stack! Other than this dog's front being straight instead of braced. We ARE NOT comparing conformation BTW, we are comparing the stacks. So I don't want to get off on comparing their differences in conformation, JUST the stack. I think his rear extended leg/hock might even be further back and less perpendicular on this dog! The camera angle is pretty much the same.
SUPER nice dog Gustav! Love his head and conformation!

--->  I don't think I agree that it isn't a natural pose for the GSD.

My dog always stands naturally in a stacked position, every time I look at him. He probably stacks himself better than any professional could do.

Blitzen, I said the other leg doesn't look stretched very far.....

by beetree on 25 June 2012 - 11:06

GSDguy08, think of that leg as the "cane" on which the other three legs rely on for support because those legs are being stretched.

Marjorie, my statement was a double negative, so I'm not sure if you are aware that your statement agrees with my statement.

by Blitzen on 25 June 2012 - 13:06

GSDGuy, the inside leg on a GSD in a traditional show pose is not considered stretched, it is flexed under the body and the foot placed in the best position to best show the slope of the backline and the degree of angulation. That leg can only be moved as far forward under the dog as the dog's structure and flexibility will allow. The leg farest to the rear is the one that is considered stretched. "Stretched" is also used in breed surveys to indicate whether or not that dog has the correct ratio of height to body length - an "over stretched" dog would means a dog that is too long in body or loin. If a SL is worked with enough and trained to hold a stack, a good handler can manipulate that dog to look a lot different than if the dog stands naturally. A well trained GSD will hold a stack into infinity and not move a hair. It's in their genes to look pretty :).

Thanks Blitzen for the plug!  LOL!  I'd love to stack the dog and I say the photo is from a very bad angle, I would want to redo the photo if she were mine.  I'd also like to stack the pretty, dark sable with the huge head too!  Also not a great angle for him and he looks like he has nice structure that could be shown off better.
