I honestly thought you were going to say the stud's name was Karlo von Trumelo, who is also from Washington and the puppies have a starting fee of $3,500, in which their price goes up with training. I respect your decision to buy the puppy even with the high price, but as most people have said, that is way overpriced for an 8-week old puppy.  Seeing as you are really only interested in using him as a family dog/companion and not a working dog, you should definitely not be paying than what I believe to be maybe $1,800, maximum. You are paying for a breeding-quality dog, at which you will not even know if he's breeding worthy until he's a lot older than 8 weeks. Although the breeder may say he will be, there's no guarantee he will be. There have been litters from numerous breeders that have had an amazing first litter of pups, so they bred them again and the pups weren't as good this time around. Also, pedigrees don't also mean everything. You could have a dog with excellent working lines and a not-so-good trainer and the dog could be a disaster, whereas a dog with whatever lines and a reputible trainer that proves time and again they train great could be amazing. Dog's aren't mattresses where the cheap ones are no good and the expensive ones are the best, if you train and care for the dog, money usually will never matter for companions dogs, even some working ones. Like I said, I respect your decision, you may regret the price but you're not going to regret that puppy that will grow into an amazing family dog :)

Ccole223, I didn't buy the $3500 pup. Through the string of comments and information I gathered from those way more experienced than I, I made a different choice. I am very content with the Breeder I selected and the price I paid for my baby girl :)
