Well, that's exactly my thoughts, z. I am not hysterical, I am not angry, I am not emotional nor dramatic. I am just trying to calmly state our case. I don't know why some people get so hissy about it. I don't know why PDB doesn't want to welcome other boards, either, since most of my members frequent both. Seems very odd and exclusive.

People who think it should go private are the people who encourage constant, never ending bitter feelings. Getting it out in the open is considerably more honest.

VM: We do not expect PDB members to be exclusive to PDB. I believe the issue GSD had was advertising your board on this board. As I recall, many times it went something like this in a nutshell:
"PDB sucks. Come over to this new board, ***** it's a much better board"
Not every time, and not necessarily by you, but maybe you can see how that might tick someone off? Rightly or wrongly, maybe this resulted in lingering anger?
LadyFrost: It was suggested this be taken to PMs but that didn't work. I really value VM and the members of her forum, and I believe we are in the process of ironing something out here, which is more important than worrying about my saying anything untoward on the board. If it takes saying stuff on the board to straighten this out, then that's what I'm going to do.

I sure hope that most people of whatever boards they are members can let bygones be bygones. It would be nice to try just one more time, anyway...
I think this place did get a whole lot better, too. The current mods are doing a pretty good job considering the spectrum of personalities, (including my own, LOL) that exist among all these dog owners/lovers.

No, LadyFrost, I mean HONEST. I am fairly clear what PETTY means. And that's not what I'm talking about right this minute. Sometimes it is, but not right now.
Z, I do not remember anything of the kind, but then emotions were high back then. And what's more, I do not feel valued, but let's not go down that road anyway.

From an historical perspective, a small subset of former posters began causing serious problems on this board back in 2007, and their involvement predated certain recent problem posters by at least two years.
In any event, I'd say getting it more or less back on track in less than 8 months of moderation with just a few fits and starts ain't so bad. You don't turn a supertanker around in a half-mile. And zmod and GSD are absolutely correct in that many of the new additions here like OT Forum, chat etc. were in discussion among site administration for a long time before they appeared, so these weren't poached ideas.* Again, think supertanker - they take a long time in drydock to refit, too.
*I personally was NOT in favor of the OT forum because I thought it would end up harboring a lot of the same garbage we'd worked so hard to keep off the regular forums, but I have been pleasantly surprised at how relatively pain-free it's been. So count me wrong on that call.

OK just to put my 2 cents worth in--I think the board is a hell of a lot better than it has been in a long time. When I first came here there were a lot of good people here who worked their dogs and competed with them that had a lot of good input. Not too many pissing matches. Then one day it just all started going downhill. Too much he said she said breeder and trainer bashing. (no I'm not innocent cause I fell in it too and no I'm not sorry for what I said, just that I brought it here) Now lots of the people that are gone, whether they chose to leave on their own or were banned, I'm glad to see them gone. There are others I truly miss. This is the only forum I go to cause I like it here. It has a lot to offer. Thanks Oli and mods for making it better........................
