Sorry about the editing two times stevie.  My computer froze on me.  Anyways.  Everyone here wish Steve a Happy Birthday.  steve just turned a 100.  May you bring joy to everyone in your path for a another 100 years.

On another note.  Let's be honest.  You Are Nuts Stevie.  The only one that doesn't know it is U.  You are the same imbosol/degenerate who talked about looking for raw meat to feed your dog, complained that its too expensive (cant see how that could be a with a guy as resourceful as you lol), and then you attack this girl for saying that raw meat is a healthier option.  So which is it stevie?  confused? obviously.   Maybe you are the twit or as we say here in America a RETARD.  Obviously you have nothing to do all day and all night because no one even entertains you outside of this forum so you come on here to talk stupid and entertain yourself.  Oh and I love the picture of you on your profile.  I buried my grandfather in the same sweater.  Happy Birthday stevie.

I'm sorry SilverFox.  I didn't know that you were still around.  I'm assuming that my previous posts were too intricate for you to understand or maybe you were just waiting to see if you could find a friend on here and you did.  you found stevie.  (Happy Birthday Stevie).  We all know stevie he is the guy  that abuses women and likes to talk stupid.  He's too stupid to remember that he drove all over europe to find raw meat for him and his dogs to eat but because he couldnt find any that made uvw a twit.  Maybe stevie is just some nazi hiding out in europe annoying people about dogs because he has nothing to do all day.
Silverfox You are a very sad human being.  Don't forget to reread my previous posts to you as I am smiling about how I hit the nail on the head with every comment made.

P.S.  I bought stevie one of those spiked collars for his birthday.  Maybe you can put it on him to match the one that you wear.

Yes, i expect your computer did freeze just like your  brain, Get your facts right before you shout off
Firstly i have never said feeding Raw was not a better option
Secondly some time back i tried every avenue over here to get it some days gone for 7 hours and travelling a radius of 60 miles, But no go and i tried for several months and plus my phone bill was extensive
Then what do i get as a reply you are not trying hard enough, that is out of order with condescending remarks like that and i for one will not let it slide from anyone without telling them
Then you pipe up with your slagging off remarks and i tell you now you would never say them to my face, but you hide behind your computer like many on here, and type away  another reply knowing you are safe from any repercussions a Cowards way but i take that as normal from people like you and have a laugh to myself picturing you typing away with what shall i put down next to try and piss him off but it will not work its only words, it gives me a chuckle or two which is good,
However the Abattoir over here is right the other side of the Country, Plus the fact i could not buy in great bulk because i do not have a Freezer to take it or a place to keep one. So it had to be an amount i could get monthly to feed the Dogs
I have fed dogs for 60 years never any problems at all and i mean NONE, in the days of my youth they were fed the Scrapes from the table with a dog biscuit as a treat and they kept A1
Now Mr Clever here are the facts over here
Meat and Fish is very expensive we pay on everything we buy Food, Oil. Gas. 21% TAX on all things you need to live on even household oil is 21% not concessions even for the old people
Plus i will tell you. You do not get the choices of meat cuts you get in the USA or the UK or of Fish
and that is on all meat sources
You can go into any super market in Belgium and ask for a Leg of Lamb, they do not sell legs of lamb
you  can buy lamb chops but single chops cut so thin you may as well eat them raw for to cook them you show it the heat and take it off
Pork you cannot buy a leg of pork, the only place on occasion to get a half leg of Lamb is Carr-fours 30 miles a\way from me but only rarely.  So they are the real facts over here and i do not need anyone to say i am not or have not tried, If i could get the food at a reasonable price then i would feed Raw.  Instead i feed a Kibble without Grains plus my own bits i add in
As for buying a cemetery plot over here, NAH'  no chance i left them where they fell and i never looked back

I see you have the Boy rottguy posting on your behalf , Cannot you do it yourself, I will tell you this besides the running around i did some time ago i even went to the restaurants in three towns within 12 miles of me to ask them to save any waste uncooked meat and bones for me and fish and i would collect it every two days and pay them
Not one would help out saying it was against health and safety rulings, and that was it none would budge on it
Yet you say i have not tried hard enough that does get me a little peeved, for one you are not in a position to say or know

rottguy
So you have bought a spiked collar for me have you that is most kind of you, Then it is only right that you come over and see that it fits okay
My address is on the forum or if you cannot find it i will give it too you, so rottguy please come over and fit it on me  I guarantee you a very nice reception, one which will remain with you for many years to come, is that not kind and civil of me

You seem like a very stubborn and extremely disgruntled guy.  You're really not a bad guy just misunderstood.  After reading your replies I'm under the assumption that you are just upset that you cannot feed your dogs raw because they are all rip offs where you are and here you are reading this article and its up setting to you because you want to give them the best but no one will help you out where you are.  Well I do not know what the price differences are from here to Europe but silverfox has offered to donate herself for free to you mongrels to snack on. This would be the only action that silverfox has had in many years.

P.S.  I'm beginning to like you Steve.

Oh, this has provoked a lot of angst.

I AM a raw feeder, and have been for many years. I researched it myself read books about how pet food was made, and I made the decision, for me and for my dogs. My vet is an advocate of raw feeding too, and when I was contemplating it, put me in touch with another client (with a GSD) who lived near me, and I went and met her dog and listened to what she had to say.

I guess what I am trying to say is that it is a personal choice. I have been around long enough to be cynical about big businesses, like the pet food industry and hate the idea that nutrients are destroyed in the process and added back in. I feel that I am paying a premium if I buy kibble, for an extended process that seems pointless, when you have meat and bone which includes the nutrients to begin with. But just my personal opinions. I would disagree with everyone who said raw feeding was more expensive, I don't find that to be the case at all.

I don't know why people get so hot under the collar about it. I never preach about it (not that I think uve has) and when it has come up some people have said 'Oh, you're one of those'. So the divide is great. I am lucky in the UK there are companies that simply package raw meat straight from the slaughterhouse for dogs, and I have two freezers in the garage, also many butchers now have 'raw feeders' and package up 'eating' bones and sell them cheaply or even give them away. You can also get chicken minced with skin and bone, so if you are worried about whole chicken bones, that takes care of it.

If I was like Steve1 and couldn't get it I would be miffed indeed. I would have to settle for scraps and the best quality food I could get, and afford. I actualy agree with Steve1 (I think it was), when I was a kid back in the 50's dogs did very well on scraps, Chappie and hard 'terrier' biscuits. They lived much longer than they appear to now. The one thing I really dislike about kibble is it's swelling properties. If I ever want to give my dog a few biscuits in their Kongs it is always hard biscuit that doesn't swell up. That scares me.

Would i feed Raw if i was in the postition to do so Yes' i certainly would but as i said to uvw it is not always possible to do what we want too
My Dogs are fed on Grasslands Acana not a cheap food at 82 USA dollars a 32lb bag,
It contains no grains,  Plus bits i add myself .The dogs are fine and as good condition as any, But still it is not Raw feeding, but as good a kibble as you can buy, and i do not come onto this Forum to be liked only to talk about the breed in general but there is little of that going on right now
Regards me being stubborn you would be right disguntled No' that i am not, So long as what i feed my dogs are is not showing any adverse effects and it is not then all is okay, One day i may come across a way of feeding how i would like to but it is not at this time
However i have never had a dog die on me until the youngest did at 13 years old the oldest was 16.5 years old deaths were due to old age, not how they were fed to bring that about

steve, i don't need anyone to fight my battles for me, but thank you.

i never said you weren't trying hard enough, or that you were doing things wrong, or failing your dogs.  i merely said "where there's a will, there's a way," whether it takes several weeks, several months, or several years.   whether you can feed raw 100% or feed one raw meal per week.  there was no reason to call me a pompous twit, and a jerk among other things, nor tell me i have it easy.  i'm not sure how easy you think i have it, but i put in 18 hour days driving 400+ miles to pick up the type and quality of items i personally want.

but don't worry, even after your hurtful comments, i have already sent out several emails in hopes of helping you find a decent supplier or maybe an existing raw feeding group/co-op in belgium.

Some of you Guys in the USA  are soon hurt by words and others are made of different material, The best way then if you are hurt is to toughen up a little they are only words plus there was nothing to be hurt about,
As far as i was concerned you were a Male, and if you were and hurt by my words then you are a right Wimp
However rottguy called you a girl in one post so evidently he know you, Me i know some to which Sex they are but not all i go by the manner in which they write and to me your way of putting it across was condescending just as if no one knew how to feed Dogs but  In that respect you are way off the beam,, I do not feed Raw but i know how to feed dogs and have kept them in top health for 60 years no problem

"hurtful comments" was a little bit of sarcasm on my part, but i knew you would immediately be drawn to it.  you seem to like to start arguments and put on your tough guy routine.  don't worry about me toughening up, i've got a thicker skin than you, and probably a bigger set of brass ones as well (figuratively speaking, that is).

you thought i was male because i had some valid points, which were never written in a condescending manner, and you wanted to argue about something.  i try to write in a neutral manner whenever possible because i know people are so good at misreading, reading into things, and taking things out of context.

i am female......and if you actually clicked on the link to the article, you would have seen my face and bio at the top, which tells me again that you didn't open or read the article, you were just looking to start an argument.  i'm assuming rottguy read the article, and my bio, and that's how he knows i'm female.

so basically, you have not read the article, you've only been reading into the comments and fantasizing about having an argument.  you came onto this thread spitting your vindictive comments and crying the blues about how you've exhausted every possible outlet for raw feeding your dogs (rather than just saying, "hey do you or anyone on this board happen to know anyone here in belgium or get me some suggestions or help").

and now you're on a thread in the general topic forum announcing your renewed efforts to find raw food again.

fantastic!  my job is done...another one on the path to raw feeding.  i'll let you know if i get any responses from over seas.
